Great Glenelg Marina views, lovely staff, big menu variety & well-priced quality Chinese cuisine. Lychie, you were such a pleasant surprise! We booked Lychie on a Sunday afternoon for my brothers birthday and we couldn’t be more happier with the service & food! We opted for the 8 course banquet because of its delectable variety and very reasonable price — $ 45 pp. They also include a free bottle of Chardonnay or Shiraz. Wine &8 course banquet at the price you can’t go wrong! The entrees were beautiful; the dumplings were perfection! The first round of the banquet included special fried rice, grilled seafood plate & Szechuan chicken. We were full after this but we still had more to come — glad I saved a bit of extra room because the honey plum duck & sizzling steak were fantastic! Very good portion sizes leaving 4 full adults extremely full at lunch time!

This restaurant is in a large well utilised space. It looked fantastic and felt warm and inviting. Staff were extremely profession yet still came across and nice and friendly. The waiter told us it was an award winning restaurant(with trip advisor) which set expectation high from the start. So we shared and ordered from the entrée menu. First San chow bow which was nice but mine was a little over filled and therefore I couldn’t roll it properly so it dripped. But was yummy. King prawn dumplings where really nice. We had 2 each. I quite liked these however they had been drizzled with chilli oil which we both found too too hot. It spoiled the dish really. Soft shell crab was perfectly delicious. Except also drizzled with the chilli oil really people? We want to taste the food. My friend was perfectly happy at this point I however was a little underwhelmed. Dessert made up for it. Banana fritters with ice cream and caramel drizzled around. Oh yes! We topped that off with a shot of kalua each and a fortune cookie. Fortune cookie tasted fabulous, my fortune message? Yeah not really happy with that. I liked it here. Others had ordered sizzling meals and we could smell them it was a Devine aroma. Just not good to inhale the fumes of chilli oil too deeply. If your not into chilli hotness might be best to let them know here.

I have been to Lychie a few times now. The food is good, not amazing, but definitely good. I like the Sizzling Mongolian Fillet Steak and the Citrus Chicken. The wait staff on my latest visit were impressive, he took and remembered our order(for 4 people) without writing a single thing down. He was pleasant and attentive to us. My only complaint with Lychie is the price, for Chinese food it is expensive(E.g. $ 15 for plain steamed rice?), I assume this is because of it’s location on the Marina Pier.

Have been here a few times and enjoy the food immensely. Was there on Saturday night and it seems some changes to the menu have taken place so I tried the Soft Shell Crab for an appertiser which was delicious, probably best I have had to be honest. For a main, I had the Chicken Ying Yang Mushroom Hot Pot which was fantastic, great flavours and a good size. The staff are very accommodating and have a pleasant manner about them. Definitely one of my favourite Chinese Restaurants in Adelaide.

I must say this is probably some of the most amazing Chinese food I have ever eaten. The décor of the restaurant is modern asian and very decadent. Service fairly quick however a few language issues did occur. I was enjoying it too much to take photos… but some things the four of us ordered were: * Crispy Golden Prawn Ball Dumpling($ 9.5) –served w/Sweet Chilli Sauce(3) — Probably the most boring part of the meal. * Traditional Peking Duck —($ 65) Whole Duck 16 Pancakes [for 3−4p] — Just Delicious! Wonderful :) * Chicken Black Peppercorn($ 19.5) — The chicken was unbelievably tender, fresh and brilliantly flavoured. I believe that was all I can recall as it was a few months ago but gosh it was an amazing meal — well done Lychie :)

This elegant restaurant mixes modern Chinese flavours with traditional fare, to excellent results. The service is prompt, the waiting staff are really nice and the wine list is pretty good. The food is cooked to a high standard. My bloke loves the tender Shangai mushroom duck pieces from here, which are lightly battered with fresh, mushroom gravy and well seasoned. DIETARYREQUIREMENTS Pescatarians are well catered for. The seared Governor’s Red Pepper Szechuan King Prawns from off the coast of South Australia are particularly good. They are served with, as the name suggests, red capsicum, onion and celery pieces and a tasty red chilli jam. There are enough vegetarian options for a veggie to get by, and the Salt and Pepper Silken Tofu is particularly well cooked and seasoned. There are also six-meal banquets with fried rice plus dessert, which we’d like to try one day but if you’re in Glenelg for the day it’s pretty hard not to indulge in other food before your meal.
