Hill Architects is a contemporary architecture firm based in Glebe.

We work on people’s homes, from small scale alterations & additions and new houses for families, through to townhouses and apartment buildings for builders, developers and investors.

We work in heritage areas in Sydney’s Inner West, eastern suburbs and north shore, as well as in newer areas throughout the city and beyond.

History

Established in 2004.

The practice was established by Peter Hill after five years post-​graduate experience in Europe, and then ten years experience as a partner at Randles Hill and later Randles Hill Straatveit Architects in Sydney. Peter graduated in Architecture at UNSW in Sydney and did post-​graduate studies in Urbanism at the IV Laboratory of Urbanism of Cities in Barcelona. Peter is a registered architect in NSW (no.6853) and the UK (no.5 9816J), and is a member of the Australian Institute of Architects. He has taught architectural design at UTS and Sydney University, and served for eight years on a design review panel for a local council.

He lives in Glebe with his wife, their son, a few fish and a bad dog. When not out walking the dog, his spare time is taken up with reading — mainly novels and blogs — listening to many kinds of music, his role as secretary of the music committee at forest lodge public school, and bushwalking in the Blue Mountains near Sydney.
