Our expertise and experience ranges from new buildings to alterations and additions, refurbishment and fitouts, adaptive/​heritage work and project/​site master planning.

Melonie B.

Business Owner

Melonie Bayl-​Smith is the Director of Bijl Architecture.

She graduated from the University of Newcastle with a B. Architecture (Honours) in 1997. After working in several small practices, Melonie established Liquid Architecture with Stephen Gray in 2002. Bijl Architecture was formed in 2012, established from this previous practice.

Since graduation, Melonie has been involved in the broader aspects of the architectural profession and is recognised as an energetic and engaging leader, readily moving between the roles of practitioner, educator, mentor, speaker, writer and critic.
