It’s always nice to visit a gallery to see what are the new trends in art. For the city’s premier exposition of modern glass art, head to Glebe. At the Glass Artists’ Gallery in Glebe, the exhibit changes almost every month. Every now and then I will pop in to see what is being showcased at the moment. For the month of November, when I last went, there was an exhibition on a group of artists. From all these artists, selected works were on display that featured specifically animals in their work. In fact, the name of the exhibition is ‘Animal Instincts’. Represented by a multitude of media, animals could be seen not only in glasswork, but also ceramic figurines, beautiful vases, and canvas paintings. I thought this was a lighthearted exhibit with some stunning pieces. The main ambition of the Glass Artists’ Gallery is just as its name suggests: to provide a clean space to exhibit diverse and contemporary glasswork by artists new and old, and of many backgrounds. It also acts as a venue for different events.
