I was very disappointed with the simplicity mediocre dish at an outrageous high price.

The best most authentic panko I’ve had outside of Japan Be prepared for a larger bill than you’d expect from Japanese curry :) Totally worth it though as a guilty pleasure

When you have lived in Japan for 1.5 years, you get used to amazing Japanese food all the time. Since returning to Brisbane I’ve made it my mission to find Japanese restaurants that are authentic. I had the Kurobuta Katsu curry and rice(literally translates to deep fried black pork) where the katsu was unusually cooked on a skewer instead of shaped into a oval shaped portion on its own. From living in Japan I know that if food is presented like this then you use your chopsticks to push the meat off the stick and cut it into the curry. Usually the meat is already cut into bite sized pieces. This made eating the katsu a little more interesting. The katsu was coated in Panko bread crumbs that make a huge difference to the taste of the pork. The meat was very juicy and tender, the rice was cooked to perfection and the curry had a rich base with added spices and very small pieces of carrot. All in all a good meal for a pork and curry lover but I would have preferred the katsu off the skewer for a more authentic experience.
