Inspired by Japanese pop culture and the thousands of Yakitori restaurants that line the streets of Japan, Bincho offers small plates, bright salads, playful drinks and out of this world Yakitori dishes. Using only fresh ingredients, Bincho serves up top notch contemporary Yakitori, whilst still staying true to its Japanese traditions.

Led by Executive Chef Richard Slarp, Bincho’s culinary team have worked in some of the most recognised kitchens in Australia including Sydney Opera House, Marriott, Est and Sake. Combined with their love of everything Japanese, being ingredient obsessed and creating simple food with a twist, the menu is true to the age-​old Yakitori cooking method with a few quirky surprises too.

Situated in the historic Empire Hotel building, diners can enjoy their plates in front of the open kitchen or in one of the many booths surrounded by the lively interiors.

I came here for dinner with friends and overall have to say that the food was supremely underwhelming. The lotus chips appetizers were great, the pork belly yakitori was ok, definitely not special, and the fried chicken main dish was just awful. The chicken was overly battered and literally soggy. Hard to screw up fried chicken…

Bincho Brisbane, bringing a little bit of cool Tokyo to Brisbane. Located in the historic Empire Hotel, on 339 Brunswick St Fortitude Valley. It’s a bar, a restaurant, & even has a DJ booth for an all-​round good time.
The menu lends itself to sharing, but of course, with the options on offer, you may actually just want to be greedy! There’s a great variety of Yakitori: meats & vegetables cooked over Binchotan charcoal, skewered & served with a special yakitori glaze; ranging from $ 3.50 — $ 7. «Smaller» options like Miso Soup, Edamame, Corn Fritters & more, range from $ 2 — $ 6.50.
And for something a little more substantial, Bincho do offer «Bigger» options, such as Seared Tuna, Cucumber Wakame, Karaage, ranging from $ 6 — $ 11.50. Best of all, Gluten Free is available on request, & there are items on the menu that are also vegetarian. Check out the delectable chicken wings and Corn Fritters w/​wasabi mayo! Great service all round.
Tip: Try Bincho Brisbane on a week night. It has a more intimate feel then, without the hustle & bustle of weekends & when you step out, the less likely you’ll bump into random intoxicated persons, over-​indulging in Fortitude Valley

Would highly recommend this place to anyone that is thinking of coming here. Brilliant, knowledgable and welcoming staff, the food is great and the updated cocktail list is yummy! Of course I loved the lychee cocktail the best The interior of the place really makes you feel like you are somewhere else and part of the intended culture. 11⁄10 from me!

Modern Japanese fusion & cocktails with a twist? Yes please!
Reminiscent of a Tokyo karoke bar meets an animé club, Bincho is a breath of new life at the Fortitude Valley crossroads. Offering up an array of Japanese tapas with familiar friends such as edammame to their awesome take on lotus root chips (which I’m now completely with!) alongside a Yakitori menu — there’s a tastiness to be had by all.
At their official launch Bincho bar tenders got quite a work out trying to keep up with the demand for their Lychee Samuri cocktails — a vodka/​sake/​lychee concoction that tasted ah-​mazing. Their quirky cocktail menu is populated by cocktail recipes that incorporate traditional Japanese ingredients like Shochu, miso, sesame and sake to produce some truly wicked creations.
Throw in booth seats, animé-​esque ceiling art, purple backlighting a DJ booth and a bar (not to mention the conversation sparking toilet signage) and Bincho has all earmarks of a up and coming ‘place to be’ — check it before it’s so busy you can’t get in.

I had the privilege of attending Bincho’s official launch party last night and experienced a bit of excitement, a bit of entertainment, some delicious foods and whole lot of great company in doing so.
Brought to you by the owners of nearby Cloudland and Press Club, Bincho is the newest addition to the Fortitude Valley dining scene. A Japanese themed Yakitori Bar, the venue specializes in small shareable skewers of foods, delicious cocktails, and some solid beats.
My dining partners and I had the opportunity to try a smattering of foods from the menu including the lotus root chips, fragrant with an herb-​y, Asian vinaigrette, prawn ceviche served in lettuce cups, skewers of grilled king mushrooms and zucchini, and panko-​breaded and friend quail eggs wrapped bacon (their take on eggs and bacon on toast). The cocktail of the evening was the Lychee Samurai, a concoction of sake, vodka, lychee and apple juice, beautifully garnished with marigolds and a whole lychee fruit.
The ambiance is relaxed and loungey, with a combination of sitting and standing areas within varying interiour topography. Everything from the lighting fixtures to the ceiling art, the lit bar, to the bathroom signs (!!!) is well thought out and entertaining to the eye.
All in all, a solid 4-​star venue to equally kick off the start of an epic night, or wind down a rough day at work.
