Bucci attempts to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed. The hostess gave the impression that it was a privilege for someone dressed down in James Street incognito to be seated at all. I was really taken aback. Can’t fault the chefs or others in the back. Won’t be back.

Monday nights must be good dropped for quick dinner at 6:40 only table for 3 was needed to be vacated by 7:30, so we went to bar. Did take 20 min to be noticed even I was getting antsy. Apparently there was specials but we forgot to ask and it wasnt offered, hmmmm anyway Stuffed olives and aranchini for entrée with a very boring lasgne risotto and caprease for main. Entrees hot but tastey, stuffed olives delicio. Lasagne was full of flavour, not a standard las but pasta and meat were goid

Bucci is a taste sensation and stays true to modern Italian, it’s also located in a great area which gives it a buzzy yet relaxed environment. I congratulate Bucci on serving my table on a busy Friday client lunch, there were 20 of us and we were looked after well and the service went seemingly smoothly given the quantity that we had ordered. To start the lunch off we ordered BUCCISALAMI Platters, ARRANCINI di FUNGI, Melanzane alls Parmigiarna, plus some other little balls — all of which were to die for and one could completely come back and just share some of this with a couple glasses of the delicious Chianti or the Sangiovese that they have in the cellar. Both of which were great wines. For main I went mainstream with the chargrilled wagyu rump which was delicious and cooked to perfection– the artichoke that garnished the meal really made it and whet my appetite for desert which was a tough choice between the affogato, the grappa and what we eventually decided on…“the best chocolate cake ever” Chocolate Nemesis del«River Café» with vanilla marscapone and crushed raspberries — Yum! Highly recommend melt in your mouth quality! I will definitely come back to Bucci, definitely not a day to day restaurant, but as far as Italian Restaurants go, very high quality indeed.

We went here for dinner four is us. One meal was excellent the crab linguine but the other three were a bit average. They were very very oily and some of the herbs overdone. My prawns in the prawn pasta were not soft but a bit like they had been frozen and had that post frozen texture. Not fleshy and soft and white but transparent and chewy. The pesto in the gnocci was overpowering. The crumbed veal was nothing special and quite expensive. Service was good and wine list great. Not a huge menu selection either to choose from. Probably wont go back but all in all average food and for the food quality was overpriced. Don’t mind paying that much if the food is to die for but when it’s just good to average it’s a bit pricey. Desert was redeeming as we all had the Italian donughts that were yummy.

Not sure what happened the night five of us had dinner there… but we all had different mains and all commented how salty each was! Detracted from the taste of the meals… otherwise they would have been great.

Spanner crab linguine. Worth the trip just for this dish. All dishes tried were excellent with offerings tempting multiple return visits.

My girl friend and I went for dinner to Bucci on Friday evening. The booking was made in the morning for that reason we did not have any other option but take limited seating from 6pm to 7:30pm. We turned up and were seated earlier — at 5:45pm even though they had a sign up about opening at 6pm. Good service and that part. We decided to share entrees(CIABATTARUSTICA and RICOTTADELLANONNAALFORNOCONFICHI) and ILPOLPOARROSTITO. Food was fresh and delicious. It was first time I tested fresh figs and was very nicely surprised by its taste. Octopus was very well prepared. Baked ricotta was interestingly presented. Service was professional and friendly. The only one thing I was a bit disappointed with was selection of wines. They apparently do not have any slightly sweet wine that is not desert wine. I had a coctail(listed as first) that was slightly sweet but sour more. I would recommend to anyone taste BUCCÏGELATO E SORBETOSELECTION as desert. Gelato was light but satisfactory. BUCCITIRAMISU had a rich layer of cacao on top, decarated by piece of delicisious dark thin piece of chocolate. I was very impressed with the restaurant, food and service they deliver. The only one unfortunate is pricing… it is definitely a great venue for special occassion but definitely not for regular dinning :(

It’s not often I will go out of my way to rave about something everyone seems to do… Italian. However, I must say this scored an easy 5. Not only were we greeted by the owner and seated without a booking, but we were also treated like queens. Yes, this was on Mothers Day, but if it’s like that every day, I wish I could eat there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We tasted an array of dishes across the full menu and each were flawless. The service was perhaps as impressive as the menu and I would highly recommend this for a first date, group booking or for any occasion where your guests love amazing food and service.
