excellent Korean food open late which is nice for a jet lagged tourist. I loved the food here as good as I’ve experienced in Seoul.

Dropped by this place a few days ago by chance as another place I wanted to go was full, one of the best accidental finds ever… The place had good service with waiters who are helpful and very attentive, even though their English isn’t the best they try to help you to the best of their ability. Along with the excellent food they served, the menu was also quite reasonably priced for the portion sizes you got for each dish. You can’t really go wrong with any of the dishes in the menu if I’m honest, they will surpass your expectations I guarantee it especially the calamari with mango Mayo and fried chicken. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or bring my friends to this restaurant, it’s sure to please someone with even the pickiest of tastebuds,

I’ve just found your new favourite restaurant. Everything at White Kimchi is perfect: LOCATION: on the bottom end of Smith Street. Über convenient. SERVICE: all my friends and I had to do was glance at our glasses of water and they were immediately filled. The waitstaff didn’t hover so much as anticipate our every need — even those we didn’t know we needed, like suggesting we pair our Korean beer with our sochu, filling our glasses in the perfect mixture, and whacking it with the bottom of a spoon to stir them.(It’s a trick that must be experienced live.) FOOD: My friend lived in South Korea for two years, and was in heaven. He remarked that it was the best Korean food he’d had outside of Korea. Not only do they make their eponymous white kimchi(less spicy, more flavoursome than the normal kind), but everything was delicious. My friend almost cried from happiness when he got his Korean fried chicken(there was so much we had to take it home); my other pal isn’t a vegetarian, but ordered to tofu main and almost had to be restrained from licking her plate; and my housemate and I got two versions of the bibimbap that were so gorgeous and so filling. By the end of the evening, the waitstaff and my formerly Korea-based friend had taught us a drinking game that involved spinning the cap of our sochu bottle and passing it around the table. That’s the kind of personal touch White Kimchi has — they make you feel like you’re their new best friends. The best friends of fantastic Korean chefs, that is. I want everyone in Melbourne to hightail it down to White Kimchi the next time they’re out and craving great food!
