I’d been to B’Stilla Cantina a couple of times for lunch and really enjoyed it, but I realised it’s true value amongst the Fitzroy dining scene when I was recently looking for a late dinner at 10pm. I was amazed that the kitchen was still open and operating at 10pm on a Wednesday night and we proceeded to have a few share plates and a cocktail while enjoying some banter with bartender/​owner Hugo.
The tunes here are awesome thanks to two turntables and an extensive vinyl collection. Coupled with a small interior and a quiet crowd who are more interested in the great food and drinks than getting rowdy, it’s a really lovely atmosphere to enjoy a couple of hours in. Highly recommended.
Pro tip: if you can’t decide what to eat, they’ll pick a selection for you at $ 35 per head.

It’s like a meal your grandmother would make for you. Delicious and simple and made with heart. I personally love this place, the sweet demeanor of the staff, the location, design and of course the food.
