Fireflies is in a handsome building on Nicholson Street, but I have no idea when it popped up — until recently, I’d never noticed it before! I only went in for a drink, so I can’t comment on the food at all but the wafts I got from the kitchen did smell pretty tasty. The wine list, as you’d expect in a wine bar, is excellent. It was a warm day so my friends and I split a delicious bottle of SA riesling. We were seated out the front which was gloriously sunny, although the Nicholson Street traffic noise is a bit of a pain. The service was fantastic– our waiter was friendly and attentive. I really agonized over whether to give Fireflies a 3 or 4 star rating, and I’m still unsure, but I think I’ll hold off until I return and try the food before hopefully bumping it up to 4…
