Great little place to chill. Good vibe with music not too loud, small place so not too many people. Excellent food and worth doing the whole share plate option. Will definitely be back.

Quaint and unassuming, you wouldn’t notice Cure if you weren’t looking for it. In fact, I accidentally walked straight past the place! With a stunning selection of the finest whiskeys, this was a lovely little place to visit. The staff were super friendly and very knowledgeable, helping even a relative whiskey newbie like myself to understand the ins and outs of this fantastic beverage. While I didn’t sample it, their beer menu looked good, and the selection of foods looked to make for great pre-dinner munches.

Sassy staff, sophisticated set up and a whiskey selection that would make Grand Pa put on his good slippers for. Nestled away in a convenient location away from most hipster-fish the Cure Bar hosts talented staff, a neat menu to please most and a willingness to experiment on guests. Despite being a whiskey bar this is still my top place to grab a late night cocktail in Melbourne., followed by a glass or two of red.

What a gem. The space is fantastic, and the music(off vinyl) fit the place perfectly. Service was incredible, but I was the only person there at opening on a Saturday evening. That being said, it seems like the kind of place that would give you very good service whether it’s empty of full. Scotch selection is great and prices are fair. I had a Laphroaig 18 for $ 15, which I felt was a great value. It was served neat without question, which I respect and enjoy. The list of scotch was quite large, but small enough that you need not worry about bottles sitting around open for months on end. I had the lamb leg for dinner which was moist, delicious, and of good size for the price of $ 22. There was a nice interplay of fat and meat. The menu is not huge, but has some great sounding options and I would love to try the pork belly, and the cured meats, next time.

Great little hidden gem, a cozy chilled wine-and-scotch type place. The food is seriously incredible, I had the best steak I’ve had in Melbourne here(yeah I was surprised too!). Highly recommended, great place for a date or to go chill with a few friends. An interesting rotating set of wines by the glass, huge scotch selection, and the cured meats are a great evening snack.

It never ceases to amaze me how many good bars are to found as you leave the centre of the city. Heading down Rathdowne you’ll have staggered past the Melbourne Museum and hit a boring little intersection. Once over that it’s past a nice bar, a nice bar, an asian takeaway and BAM! an even nicer bar! Not only bar but also serving a wicked selection of cheeses and cured meats, along with a wicked menu, Cure is a rather new creation by people who must certainly known exactly what they’re doing. Their extensive lists of wine and cheese are perfectly matched, and well stocked enough in all the right places. The space is cute without being claustrophobic, with many choosing to sit at the bar and converse art and poetry with a bar tender or too(a little wanky but when it looks this good I suppose you can get away with it). Topping it all off? An M-Bomb-ing Chandelier!

The Carlton locals are bloody lucky to have a venue like Cure so close by. I would say ‘Damn you, Carlton!’ but I’m lucky enough to be one of these jerks. I can’t imagine any person not enjoying a night out at Cure. How can you not like; * An extensive wine list * Cheese platters * Homemade pâté and lamb rillettes * Cured meats * Original cocktails and all the classics * Cosy Atmosphere * Staff that know what they’re doing and love it Seriously. I DARE you to go there and have a bad night.
