You know, I really want to like this place… I mean the dishes are really cheap, but unfortunately the quality is a little shabby for me. I ended up deciding on 3 stars, but it was a real battle. The service is fine and delivery would be handy for those who live close(I am not one of those people though), but it just seems a bit confused. Feast promotes itself as ‘more than just Asian’ and I think much of the problem is that they try to sample a number of different countries cooking styles and each dish seems to suffer. Now, I didn’t try all of the dishes on the menu(I am a tubby slapper, but I aint that fat!), but the ones I had(Tom Yum Seafood and Mongolian Beef) were ok but not quite there. I may try it again soon just to have a crack at some other dishes, so I will update you all on the progress!

Feast is a pretty good option for lunch because you can get a stir fry and rice for $ 7.90. For that price, it’s well worth it and more than adequate. I’d spend more than that at Macca’s. I’m not sure I’d come here for dinner though, because although the food is nice, it’s not that nice if you know what I mean. It’s nice for a quick, cheap lunch, but the satisfaction level goes down pretty fast the more you’re paying. Four stars for a nice, cheap lunch option, but only three for dinner.

Feast offers good value for money, although it lacks anything that will really knock your socks off. The food is quite dependable, I’ve dined here a few times, but the reason I return is more from locality than a driving desire to get food from there. The kids enjoy the menu, finding plenty that’s not too spicy for them. I have trouble going past the Tom Kha Gai as an entrée, it’s one of my favourite dishes anywhere. For the pick of the mains, I’d recommend the char grilled lemongrass chicken, in my book it’s their best dish. There’s plenty of parking in the centre they’re in — just up the road from the Kmart at Firle.

Popped into FEast one day for lunch. They have a variety of $ 7.90 lunch specials. I had myself some Cashew Chicken. It was pretty decent for less than ten bucks and not from China Town. As soon as we walked in the front door the girl behind the bar greeted us. We decided to eat outside and quite enjoyed the alfresco area. I must say, there isn’t too much to say. Our meals were brought to us within ten minutes. There wasn’t anything too special about FEast, but it was perfectly fine in my books. Definitely worth a try, why not?

Feast deliver for free within a 3 km radius if your order is above $ 25. Pretty handy if you live around the area, otherwise you can always eat there, go and pick up your delivery or pay a $ 2.50 fee if you live within 5 km of their restaurant. They have quite an extensive menu at very reasonable prices. Starters are mainly inspired by Chinese and Thai cuisine, ranging from spring rolls to chicken satay, sesame prawn triangles to fish cakes. Mains consist of soups, beef, pork, poultry, seafood, rice, noodles and some vegetarian dishes so I’d say there is something for everyone. We ordered the spring rolls, which were very good and came with a sweet chilli sauce. The mains, beef with black bean sauce and green curry chicken were alright for the price they charge. Portions are big enough and contained sufficient veggies and sauce. It certainly wasn’t the best take-away I’ve ever had but it was good and edible. All in all, your average Asian take-away.
