They do $ 10 lunch and dinner in the keg bar, meals are average on size but worth the size for the price. Enjoyed the meal and was a chilled out area in the keg bar, haven’t been to the main dinning room but looks good, will definitely be back :)

There are two pubs in Adelaide called the Exter, a trendy one in the city, and one in Semaphore that is trying to be a trendy one, though that attempt is undermined by the existence of the pokie machines. Look, this isn’t a bad pub, but the first time I came here I felt decidedly uncomfortable out in the beer garden(and I made a special journey to come here because I have always wanted to have a beer at the ‘Other Exeter’. The second time was a little better though, and my friend even discovered that they had used a door as a table top, though I am still trying to work out if they were trying to be trendy, or are simply cheap. At least they have live bands, though since it is one of the ALH pubs I suspect they are not the indy quality that you would expect from the Exeter in the city.

Family friendly, moderate prices. The pub resteraunt has nice décor, a good play area for the monsters, a patio and solid food. There is a seperate poker room. Overall this is a nice family friendly place. The separate Keg bar is a friendly, traditional bar to sink a pint.

This family friendly pub features machines to keep the young and young at heart entertained. This hotel was established in 1854 and the refurbishments it has had over the years have not detracted from its charm, and there is still a beautiful fireplace in the Keg Bar. KEGBAR This room is so called because it showcases the beer kegs behind a glass panel behind it. The room features a large, round, wooden bar which is nicely polished. There are plenty of stools with backs at the bar, so you can sit and enjoy a nice, cool schooner of beer in a frosted glass. The bar staff are friendly and generally know how to pull a good beer. GAMES There’s a 1980s arcade game and a computer game, a chocolate machine and a toy grabber machine near the bistro. There’s a pool table in the area too. BISTRO The bistro is quite nice with polished floorboards throughout and wooden tables and chairs. The Exeter Hotel serves typical pub grub, but the tomato and basil bruschetta I had from there with a balsamic vinegar glaze drizzle over the top of it was quite nice.

I play the odd bit of Poker from time to time, both online and at the tables. I have been known as the Iceman, for my unflinching expression, The Face, for my innocent yet intimidating look and ‘You f*&#ing Lucky Prick’ for my amazing ability to play the 7⁄2 off suit! A few years back I would head to the Exeter every Monday night with a mate and my Girlfriend for some Texas Holdem action, a countery and the odd pint of amber fuel. These were very enjoyable evenings, where you would very occasionally get knocked out early(then hit the turps) or stick with it for the long haul and kick it on the final table. I have also been to the Ex for other reasons than those card related, namely drinking in the front ‘Keg’ bar. Basically a big horse-shoe bar that still retains much of its character. Recently they have instigated a new menu which I haven’t tried, but they did tend to be a little hit and miss in the past. Hopefully this has been rectified as it is a top spot otherwise!
