Meal was ok except for the fancy lettuce crap instead of real lettuce… Will go back again

Café Aqua is a convenient place to get a meal if you’re going to see a movie or have just finished shopping but convenience, friendly service and reasonably priced meal deals is where the positives stop for me. The meals are well presented but the quality just isn’t there. I had the fish, chips and salad — the fish was oily and mushy, my husband had the calzone which was soggy and lacking in flavour, apparently the Schnitzel, Cajun chicken salad and beef burger were enjoyable enough for the price but nothing to write home about according to the others I dined with. They do have a large fish tank in the dining area which we found kept my 18mth old niece entertained, making our dining experience easier and more relaxed, so if you have young children try and get a table near the fish tank. I would dine here again if I was at the shopping centre but only due to there being a relatively limited number of dining options that don’t involve fast food.

Used to love this place however on this visit, started out there was no greeter, had to find someone to ask if we could have a table. The toilets where dirty and there are broken chairs stored there. My drink had black things floating in it. Our entrée arrived and we where told it had been dropped on the floor, did we want to wait for another? The opening hours say open«late» we arrived at about 8.45pm they where putting chairs on tables around us and made us feel we couldn’t order dessert. The chairs where repaired with duct tape, the light across from us was flickering. And the noise from the kitche was crazy. Also it was very expensive for a small meal. Oh, annd no side plates for our entrée, my partner had to eat off of a napkin. Paywave was also broken. On the plus side my tiny overpriced, possibly floor enhanced meal was yummy.

A fairly decent place to get a meal in Elizabeth. The staff are always friendly and the food is of decent quality. The busiest times seem to be at lunch, with many workers in the nearby Elizabeth shopping centre and council chambers coming over for lunch as there isn’t much of a selection inside the centres food court. The food is nice, however you do get what you pay for. Pizza is a popular option, with a range of about 10 toppings to choose from.
