Ordered food for takeaway and was told 35 mins… 45 mins after ordering they informed us that the entrée we ordered they were out of and couldn’t tell us when the rest of our order would be ready. Not the only unhappy customers this evening. Many calling up to complain and others waiting for their food left waiting long periods of time also. Not good enough that they couldn’t even give an approximate time it would be ready so we cancelled our order. No apology was offered so we wont bother ordering here again.

The food here is surprisingly good, and the serves are generous for the price. There’s a wide range of dishes, all done well, although I’m yet to convince myself that I need deep fried sushi… The duck noodles are fantastic, but then I’m a sucker for anything with good duck in it :) Plenty of parking thanks to the coles shopping centre, but it definitely pays to phone your order in if you want takeaway, as they get very busy at a moments notice.

We were randomly in the Dernancourt area on a mission to find a BWS liquor store, which — if you haven’t noticed — have started quietly disappearing into the night. We also needed the supermarket and the chemist while we were out and decided to grab some lunch while we were here. We walked up, expecting a standard sushi bar and instead found more of an all-round small Asian restaurant with a seating area so we decided to stop in. A warm and friendly greeting and some table water was quickly brought over for our thirsty toddler who enjoyed being a big girl and happily drank through a straw from the cup provided. We ordered a chicken satay entrée and two special fried rice. A small bowl and spoon were also brought over for the toddler who enjoyed her«yice». .. declaring it «YUM!» at top volume, much to the staff member’s delight. The prices were low and the plates piled high. An unexpectedly pleasant sit-down lunch at a shopping complex on a hot and dusty day.

What a delicious assortment of hot and cold foods. Even the front window shows the traditional hanging ducks. So far I’ve tried chilli squid, tempura fish and all types of sushi for takeaway and is now a favourite with my son. They have family packs and delivery, so this will happen for me soon although they do have a few tables in the casual shop front. The chef speaks limited English but has his traditional cooking skills down pat. I think this place will quickly become a favourite of mine.
