The long line told me that this place was going to be great. My partner and I were the only one’s not waiting in that line though to enjoy their food. We chose to eat in their dining area and found it very quaint and delicious.
The bread was by far the best part of this restaurant. They are a bakery after all. I had the eggs benedict and it was served on their house made croissant instead of a muffin. It was a great touch as their croissant was soft, flaky, and covered in buttery goodness. I would highly recommend trying this meal as it was a great fusion of their breads and their other breakfast items.
The prices were comparable with other breakfast spots in the city and the crowd waiting in line were awesome. The people watching in this line is reason enough to wait for a croissant or danish. I would highly recommend this bakery for some great coffee and bread in the Darlinghurst neighborhood.

Thank you Entertainment Voucher Book for having one of these in there! Looking for a place to have breakfast on Sunday and came across this. Read some reviews and decided to head on over.
The front window is packed with goodies and the staff are lovely.
They have a strange cow cut in half and stuck on the walls!
The food is lovely and tasty and well, I know I just had breakfast, but I really couldn’t walk past the window again without buying something «to go». And by to go, obviously I meant buy it, then eat is as soon as I stepped outside.
The swiss rolls are different to what I’m used to — the asian ones. There’s no sponge cake? Just lots of chocolate? Not complaining. The bee sting is great and I think that’s their signature?
Anyway, my point is that it’s amazeballs.

Swiss Bakerz is just a little near «hole in the wall» type of café place, sort of being one of those places that tourists like myself every now and then stumble upon, but being a most delightful find. It’s spotlessly clean, has a pleasing staff with the interior being done in a Swiss decorative way though I must confess I still don’t know the exact meaning of the large brown and white cow motif other than to guess it might somehow symbolize Swiss dairy products.
For breakfast I overindulged myself with eggs, sausages, meats and of course some traditional Rosti, the Swiss National dish, with sour cream and chives which I found to be the equal to any I’ve had during my travels in Switzerland.
The staff is extremely pleasant, well-​mannered and polite, and though the table dining area somewhat cramped, adequate enough.

This place is easy to miss along busy Oxford St but it’s a great little bakery with sourdough bread, pastries and other sweet things. I tried the raspberry lemon muffin which were pretty damn good (and I love muffins) but the poppyseed bagel was a little disappointing. It was too airy and crumbly for my liking. Maybe it’s a different kind of bagel but I was expecting something a little denser. Friendly service. Great place to stop by if you’ve never been! I’ll be back to try some of the other goodies!

Heaven on Oxford St! Best bakery in town. I know most people will consider sacrilege, but I consider Swiss better then Bourke St Bakery. Yes, my God strike me down with lightning, but it is true. This place is amazing.
Saying that be prepared to wait, especially during lunch times — and if you want a specific product you might have to come early. The almond crossiant is the heaven in bread and custard.

Croissants, lemon tarts, perfectly sized mini muffins (white chocolate strawberry is my favorite), coffee, quiches, and more.
Initially turned off by the spelling (Bakerz… yes, that’s right, with a Z) I became a frequent customer after a former colleague of mine introduced me to their sausage roll. My first one in Australia actually and no other sausage rolls can compare.
Since moving, I really miss my nearly daily skim cappuccino and mini white chocolate and strawberry muffin.
I miss this place terribly.

This Bakery is amazing. Being from Switzerland i always dream of having good bread and Croissant and we found the perfect match there. People working there are also really friendly

Two different experiences here…
Lunch: food not great, takes a while to come out because of the café (coffee, pastries, etc.) back up at the counter. Adequate seating but mostly occupied by people reading papers, drinking coffee and eating pastries. Should have taken the hint and not wasted money on the tomato soup which was flavorless and although listed as homemade seemed to be out of a can or bag, I don’t really know which is worse… Came with a cold, hard piece of wheaty-​sourdough bread which was equally flavorless and didn’t improve the soup. I think my partner got a sandwich but it was not memorable anyway.
Dessert/​coffee: decidedly decent. The Swiss cake rolls are divine. The bee-​stings are difficult to eat and not as good as they look. I would definitely try other pastries here. Solid cappuccino too, but that is hard to mess up. When ordering these sweets for takeaway, they have special bags and methods to get them to you without smashing them, which is useful.
However, in prepping the cakes to go and serving several other people at the same time, the cashier forgot to give me change from a $ 10 on $ 8.80. I told her and she looked at me querulously and I waved it off because I don’t really care enough to argue, to which I *THINK* she winked back at me… kind of annoyed after that because you shouldn’t be doing ten things at once if you can’t keep track of them. On a related note, there’s too many staff for the small space. More than the number of customers inside, at times.

Bought the raspberry danish, almond croissant, sourdough loaf and beesting all for around $ 15.
Not to sound douche-​y, I’ve had my share of danishes and croissants in Sydney and overseas… and this seriously has to be the best ones I’ve had my whole 30-​odd years of life!
The almond croissant is a nice balance of crunchy flaky pastry and almond mill, while the danish has the same with its nice jam middle instead of the almond mill of course!
The beesting we didn’t have till we got home and that was well up there, worth coming back for. It held up after a few hours in the car and still tasted pretty good!
The sourdough wasn’t too sour-​y for me and that suited me fine. Hubby disagreed and found it quite sour-​y, so I may have been having an off day for sour stuff. He still rates it as good with a good flavour to it, describing also as a ‘meaty’ bread! Had it for dinner with some pâté, Brie and deli meats which worked really well and filling for dinner!
The service was friendly and helpful which is a plus (of course) !
Definately cross the city to come back here again and again.

oh yum oh yum oh yum. This is music for the taste buds, everything is made on premises and it looks really good. I think next time I relax from my diet, I’m headed straight here to try out a muffin, boy did they look good. They are baked fresh and only $ 3.50 so really quite a treat. There was a fantastic range of other sweets and I think you would not be disappointed if you purchased something from here. The service is friendly it is small so if you sat in you may not want to have a big group — but definitely a fine excuse for a coffee and cake. Great for waiting for a bus on Oxford Street, keep yourself entertained munching on a biscuit.

Oxford St is by no means a part of the world where you’d be hard pressed to find a decent coffee. In fact I think if anyone tried to serve up a less than decent brew they’d be run out of town by locals wielding pitchforks. Swiss Bakerz, despite spelling Bakerz with a Z, is a quality supplier of both coffee and delicious tasty treatz (see what I did there?)
I also love the imagery a Swiss bakery conjures up– of some Muppets-​like Swedish (near enough) baker kneading dough and stamping cookies out the back of the store. My favourites: the mini gourmet chocolate crackles. If they come up with a similar version of fairy bread I will be a very happy chick.

This place is awesome! Swiss Bakerz is my local coffee stop and I’ve been coming here every morning (sometimes also in the evening) for years and I haven’t had a bad experience. Never. The guys there can see me coming and make my skim latte the way I like it. Then there is the bakery, and I think I’ve tried everything there. So good!
My favourite is the decadent Bee Sting, you can’t have it often but once in a while its a treat. The cream is fresh and the pastry is chewy and soft. Yum! The croissants are really good if bought in the morning, as are the muffins (the strawberry white chocolate is my fave). The crème brûlée is nice too and you can ask them to torch the top.
I never get a chance to try the lunch-​time food (bagels, pies, soups) but I’ll get around to it eventually. The dine-​in area is small so this place is best for takeaway.
Because the place is small it often gets overlooked by the other more vibrant places on Oxford St but please keep a look out for it. Its red, its Swiss and oh so delicious. Mmmmmm…

A think a lot of people with harbour a sweet spot for this sweet spot.
Its just a little bakery with some awesome stuff. A window full of gourme looking muffins and chocolates, and on the inside it becomes a little café. It serves hot drinks as well at bagels with various fillings, all under $ 10. It’s a pretty cool place to stop in for lunch for a treat, spoiling yourself without spending too much.
I really like the vibe of these small places — much less commercial than a lot of those bigger places, and more licence to give you an experience that you wouldn’t have had. This place is neither an economy of scale nor scope, it just makes a few things, and makes them delicious.

A caffeine hit in the afternoon is good for many reasons including breaking up the monotony of what can only be described as a long long day of work. And so began my love affair with the Swiss Bakerz on Oxford St and my addiction to an afternoon coffee that is generally accompanied by a snack of some sort.
The coffee order doesn’t change but my side dish can vary from anything like a white chocolate and strawberry muffin, to a brownie although I’m yet to sample the Crème Brulee. I try appease my sweet tooth and they certainly cater for that although there are other options like soups, pies and baguettes if you’re after something heartier.
You can dine in and enjoy your time, or take away if you need to rush back and show face with the boss. For the record, if it became a choice of the Swiss Bakerz or the boss, I know only to well what would get my vote.

I often call into Swiss Bakerz because they make a great cappuccino and mocha (sometimes fantastic depending on who makes it). They make the best muffins, particularly the strawberry muffin which is gooey and yummy — but the chocolate and apple muffins are very good too, I don’t think my friends will want to go with me again as I keep stealing bits of their muffins.
The great thing about the Swiss Bakerz is they are a cut above your average bakery, offering devilishly good Cream Brulee, Chocolate Ganache, Bee Stings, I could go on and on, lots of chocolate, lots of praline, lots of almonds.
The atmosphere is not so great the kitchen opens out onto the dining area, but it is more for takeaway really and who cares as long as the food is good. I do like half headless cow painted like a Swiss flag hanging off the wall though.
Everyone seems to come in to buy sourdough, so it must be good, I will have to buy a loaf sometime, but for now I will stick with the sugar.
