We paid for our meal and left with bowls full and bellies empty. Far from home and«the mark» this phở left a lot to be desired.

My wife and I came to Sydney for our honeymoon the minute she saw Vietnamese food she was determined. I found this place on Apple maps and it was a hit. She tore into some spring and summer rolls. Place is very clean and the help is very attentive.

Tried my first bowl of Phở in Sydney. It was ok. The soup base was a bit on the sweet side. For $ 11 for a regular size bowl of Phở Nam, I was expecting a bit more meat. It was more soup than anything. The noodles were a bit over-cooked and soggy. Maybe it’s a state thing but I expected basil and lime with my Phở, instead I got mint & lemon. The lemon I didn’t mind but mint was a first. I’d maybe give this place another try to see if their other dishes are better… and because it conveniently located around the corner from where I’m staying.

You have gotta love phở. It’s delicious as someone who didn’t grow up on it. When u first experience it wow the burst of flavour the freshness delicious now as someone who loves it it’s hard to find a good one but Saigon queen has the best that I’ve found and it’s cheap and huge portions the spring rolls are delicious Highly recommend go in give it a go …

From Order To Table: Just fast enough to interrupt the time between the end of small talk and awkward silence. Service-ometer: Cookie-cutter friendliness. Stomachability: Like a home cooked dinner from mum. Have been coming here for a couple of years as I’ve tried everywhere else and it keeps on stacking up as the best phở/Vietnamese in the area — from Kings Cross to Redfern. The ambiance is unapologetic with fake bamboo and cracked tiles, personally that is how I like it vietnamese restaurants anyway. The beef phở is really nice, definitely not the best I’ve had, but by far the best this side of the city. It’s a very generous bowl with lots of mint, shoots and chilli(and that’s just the small). The larger size could be anything from 1 to 1.5 litres of broth. Also the best thing about this place is it has been consistently good for so many years. Albeit I’ve never seen the same person work there twice. RECOMMENDRECOMMENDRECOMMEND!

Went here with a scoopon voucher. The portions of the mains are huge. I ordered the phở with rare beef/beef brisket slices and it was really good however a bit too salty for my liking. My friend had the vermicelli salad with wok fried beef and that was refreshing and also very nice.

The first two stars are for the phở. The sign out front proclaims Saigon Queen the best phở in Sydney, but I think there’s a caveat somewhere about the fact that you’re not in Marrickville/Hurlstone Park, widely known as the home of Sydney phở. The phở is as good as anywhere else, served with a small bounty of spring beans, mint leaves and extra chilli. The third star is for the starters. The vegetarian spring rolls are brilliant, if a little too deeply fried. The side salad keeps the meal light and fresh, and helps keep space free for the bucket of phở you’re about to be served. The price is good for the area, and the phở is good for the fact that you don’t have to travel to the inner west and the service is good enough.

Really small menu permits this establishment to offer rock bottom priced phở, spring rolls, and slight variations on those to customers with fast, friendly service. Agree with the review that menus the lower quality of meat though, unfortunately it’s not limited to the chicken, as I have found the beef phở has similarly stringy and fatty slices. If you get the vermicelli spring roll salad, the spring rolls, or just eat the phở for the broth and noodles on a cold or rainy day though, still can’t be beat for a cheap meal. It might not sound like it at a glance, and from three star rating, but I do recommend this place. They also have good Vietnamese iced coffee available, even if the portion serving is small, it’s three or four delicious slurps of coffee sweetness.

Stopped in for some phở on a rainy day. First impression was that it was a bright and clean respite from the rest of Oxford St — feels very fresh. The food(chicken phở) was fantastic and the prices were fair($ 10 for dinner, $ 8 for lunch). Will definitely be back again!

Great décor and really clean. The food was also very good(probably one of the best Phở places outside of Chinatown/Cabramatta/Marickville). And the portions were very decent. $ 10(which is for a regular sized dish) was actually an extremely generous size(just managed to finish it). For the area, its really good — top points for this. Will definitely be back if I’m in the area.

$ 8 for a bowl of phở for lunch is a pretty good deal, but you get what you pay for. The noodles and broth were fine. The chicken, however, was not so great. just little dark meat chicken bits that had to be scooped up with a spoon they were so small. Will try giving the beef phở a go and report back. The warm beef salad also looked good, so I’ll give that one a shot too.

Maybe it’s been too long, or maybe I couldn’t believe I only paid $ 8.00, but I’d stake my soup spoon on the claim that this is Sydney’s best phở outside of the Cabramatta/Marrickville bastions you read about on everyone’s ‘best of’ lists. The sides were fresh, the noodles were that perfect texture, the meat was tender, and the ever-important broth was delicious and well-balanced.(Oil is good, but I don’t want to be sucking down an RC Pro-Am-esque oil slick.) So fine, the $ 8.00 lunch deal did play a part in my excitement. But finding phở in the eastern suburbs turned out to be much more of an endeavor than anticipated and be the time I had the bowl up to my lips, well, you know the rest. p. s. I’d like everyone to take note that I made it through this entire review without one single phở pun. Phonomenal. Ok, almost.

Limited menu but tasty food. The service is a bit average, but the language barrier may be the issue. Came here with some friends and wanted a vermecilli salad but didn’t feel like meat. Asked if they could put tofu in the salad instead, as they had a warm tofu salad. She looked at me funny and said no. So I ended up getting the Tofu Salad. My friends ordered the chicken and tomato rice and the pork chops. We also shard spring rolls which were tasty. My salad and the chicken came out but the pork chops didn’t. We thought it would come out in the next few minutes but it didn’t. Then I asked the waitress and she said sorry the chefs forgot and they’re making it now. Overall an okay place but as I said limited menu and average service. Would maybe come back to try the phở or place a take away order.

It’s very tough to go wrong when your lunch special is a giant bowl of phở for $ 8.00.
