Checked this place out on advice of a local beer store and was not disappointed. As an American traveling to Australia for the first time and someone who knew nothing about craft beer from he region, it was a great place to end up at. The bartenders were amazingly nice and friendly, knew their stuff and could suggest great local beers. 12 on tap and a pretty large bottle list and I dipped into both. I got to sample a number of different brews, one better than the last from all different ranges of the beer spectrum. The atmosphere was great, the people in the bar were friendly and as a bonus for someone traveling, they had free WIFI. If I was in the area, I would hit this bar up again without a doubt.

The best beer joint in town! They take their beer seriously.

This place has some interesting and unusual brews, but they’re not cheap. The staff was really friendly and let us taste a few before deciding, though. The atmosphere is unpretentious. It was busy enough on a Friday evening, but not overly crowded(all 8 of us had a table and enough stools), and you don’t have to wait long to get served. The noise level is such that you can still have a conversation with people without having to shout. They have some great synergy going on with nearby Mr. Crackles. You can put in an order and pay at the bar, and Mr. Crackles will deliver to the bar and the bar staff will bring you their food. I’d definitely like to come back to this place.

This is a little pub has a very different vibe to be rest of Oxford St. Less hectic and a lot more laid back. It has a Brooklyn loft feel to it, with a high roof and one long thin room. The place becomes awesome as it stocks up to 12 different craft beers on tap — which constantly change, so don’t expect the same beer each night that you come. They average from about $ 7-$ 12 depending on the size you are buying. They also have around 4 – 5 different wines. They don’t have any food on offer — but don’t threat! You can order Mr Crackles at the bar and they will come and deliver it to you. Or if you feel like something else, the bar allows you to bring food in — or even get something else delivered. One night I was there a couple brought a little picnic basket with them and sat enjoying their beer with a cheese spread — as I said this place is laid back. So come here if you want some beers with out the intensity of the regular bars of Oxford St.

Great selection of craft beer on the menu! I came in when it was still bright outside and it felt like an outdoor bar with the noise of the street serenading your beer. The bar has pretty poor lighting so the ambience light is proportional to the natural light outside. They try to make it better by lighting candles everywhere but I can’t help but feel that I’m in some shady moonshine joint in 1920s New York. Maybe it’s the wooden furnitures and the candles. Or maybe it’s the five pints I downed. This small bar gets pretty crowded in the evening so get in early! I normally get the beers on tap because you can get the rest from dan murphys for half the price anyway.

Coming from Brooklyn, this is the closest to a true beer bar in Sydney that we get in the US. If you love craft beers, this is THE place to go. We had some excellent brews from a few of the microbrews both domestic and imports. We easily fell in love with the Brewcult brews, and really hope they make their way out to the US
