This place is a bartender’s bar. It gets going late, stays open late, and has drinks made with precision. You’ll find Henrietta’s up a flight of stairs above Tigerbakers on Victora Road in Darlinghurst. Inside, there’s a room with couches and another with more of a standard bar feel. I once made the mistake of going at 8pm. The place was empty and the cocktail bar was not open. I’ve since been back at later hours(midnight, 1am, 2am…) and the place is much more filled. The bartenders take their time with the cocktails, taking minuscule sips out of test straws to ensure that they have concocted the best possible drinks. The downside to this is it takes time to get your drink. But the upside is you can be ensured that once you do have it, it will be delicious.

Quite little place but amazing food and even more amazing cocktails, the staff are fantastic as well. I’ve been here a number of times and will always be coming back. I love the fact it’s not the most well known place so you can always find a seat and relax, with the great atmosphere and music!

I really like this place. Came by one night around 10pm. Place was pretty quite but didn’t bother us as we could here each other conversations. We find out that the place is open till 6am or so and gets packed later on as all bar attenders come and hang out here after work. The drinks were really good. You can basically tell them what you like and they will whip something out for you. We also had a meat and cheese board which was really yummy! Will definitely come back.

Sydney’s best cheeseburger, the Royale with Cheese is worth the visit alone. Great venue with friendly, fun staff and the cocktail game is strong!

I had read a lot about this place so was expecting a good crowd when I went Tuesday night… usually an empty bar/restaurant is a terrible sign but I think Henrietta’s may just be more of a late night place. It’s split up into a restaurant in the front and a cozy bar at the back, with lots of great cocktails and wine to choose from. They’ve also recently redone their menu, and stepped away from more of your traditional«mains» and transitioned to more of a sharing/entrée based menu. Highlights were the pork crackling(seriously, it crackled the entire time we were at the table), mac and cheese balls and the hanger steak. The other MASSIVE highlight was the music. If you’re into 50s/60s type music you will love this place. If not… best to stay away. All in all a great spot, hope they can make it!

Here’s a little history 101 for all … did you know Darlinghurst was originally called Henrietta Town and previous to that Eastern Hill? Thanks google. So I’m not too sure what this place was before it became Henrietta but it certainly is the goods. Hidden away to the side of a massive thai restaurant, you walk the few steps up into a rather intimate dining space. It’s all velour, its dark, its sexy, its small. yep its an itty bitty place but here’s proof that«good things come in small packages». For anyone thats a fan of pork crackling, you be sure to order this dish — I was told it was delish. I mean if the sound of it was anything to go by, I’d say get involved. Do not overlook the quail. OHMYLIFE the quail, the perfectly cooked bird, the delicate legs(that should always be eaten last), the rhubarb dressing far from tart. this dish was perfection. And for the doubters, the brussel sprouts. surprise dish of the night, exquisitely caramalised with the fat from the speck and the oil from the almond. Yessir, this is the way to go … order a bunch of small plates — try them all, down a few cocktails and a fab Zinfandel and you’re guaranteed a great night out.
