History

Established in 2014.

Kazbah Souk Potts Point, founded by owner & chef Zahi Azzi, is the fifth restaurant in the group which began as Kazbah on Darling, Balmain, in 1998, and the first to include a dedicated bakery and cocktail lounge.

Kazbah is known for mixing traditional Middle Eastern, Turkish, Mediterranean and Moroccan/​North African dishes with French haute cuisine techniques.

Head Chef Quim Hernandez Maluquer will also bring a Spanish and Catalan influence, having worked alongside Michelin star chefs at some of Barcelona’s best restaurants, including El Bulli.

This is a slow burner, there is no reason why it’s not pumping, the food is brilliant the service is attentive and not over played. It’s a great space, with a cool back bar. The main restaurant suffers from intrusive spot lights, but generally it’s not a deal breaker. I thought the only thing it misses is the over generous drink serves you get from real owner operators that know the value of bringing customers back.

I have to kick this place off with 5 stars just on presentation. What a great look and atmosphere.
The staff have been extra friendly and accommodating. A great first impression.
So far I’ve only sampled things from the bakery. Standard fare with a middle eastern twist. Very nice.
Coffee, even though not hot enough for me was great tasting.
I’ll be coming back to discover what else this place has to offer.
