Before I left Perth in 2014 I went out to lunch with my who suggested we try out a new restaurant and after a look in her entertainment book she settled on Breezes on the Como. When we arrived we were the first ones in the restaurant and the only ones for most of our meal, which did not bother us as we had plenty of chatting to do before I left. While we looked over the menu and decided what we wanted to have for lunch we ordered a round of cocktails. I selected the Maracuja Pie cocktail, which consisted of ‘vanilla vodka, fresh passionfruit, vanilla Galliano, pineapple juice and a crumble dusting.’ The cocktail was delicious and one that I will have again for sure! We ordered some cheesy garlic bread to share as a starter. I ordered the Cordon Bleue for my main, while my friend ordered the Linguine. I quite enjoyed my dish, it had an interesting array of flavours that to my surprise worked very well together. My friend also enjoyed her meal, saying it was nice and quite filling. Overall the restaurant and food was nice. The service was prompt. The atmosphere was lacking, although we did have a mid-week lunch. I will be back for the cocktail when I return to Perth if they still have it on the menu and perhaps I should coincide it with dinner and see how the atmosphere compares to my lunch.

On a busy Saturday night, we ordered drinks on arrival. Didn’t prebook, but they found a table for us. We shared the Cheezy garlic bread. I ordered salt and pepper squid and my partner ordered the special, which was barramundi. Both meals came within half a glass of wine and both were delicious, one of the best s&p squid because of the Asian salad that it came with. Highly recommend the place.

Had a work function do here which in some was good because I got to see a few different meals off the menu. Part of a hotel/apartment complex thing and all I can say is moving it up a floor or two to take advantage of the view over the water would give the place something extra to come for. I tired the salt and pepper squid and was whilst my taste buds were not dancing it was very nice and heaps of squid. The person sitting opposite me had a Caesar salad type thing with salmon and wow did that come with enough salmon to make a grizzly bear full! The lamb shank the person next to me can only be described as huge serving and delicious from start to finish and the other person close by had the steak which they described as evenly cooked all the way through and tasted lovely.

Have been here quite a few times now… because it is excellent value for money, not to mention one of the most under-rated restaurants in Perth. Although the décor is relatively simple, the service is great and the food Absolutely Fantastic! Every meal I have ordered has been amazing! So unless it was just good luck(and there was a celebrity chef hiding in the kitchen) I am sure your tastebuds will be pleasantly surprised. It’s what you would expect at a fancy venue(But without the huge bill and tiny portions) The meals are all well priced, decent sized and cooked to perfection. I can’t fault Breezes and would recommend it to anyone wanting a great quality meal in a casual and relaxed setting overlooking the river.

Easy Breezy Came here tonight on a 50% off food only deal from dimmi/urban spoon that was emailed to me earlier in the week. You can either call up or book online. The online booking system is easy enough but I had a few questions and called up. They were more than happy to answer any and all of my questions and the booking was made. It turns out this little restaurant is hidden away on Melville Parade in Como attached to the Broadwater Apartments. Simplistic in design but tastefully furnished with comfortable seating and a surprisingly sized outdoor dining area this place was a bit of a surprise. We decided to do a round of cocktails while deciding on what to eat and went with a white chocolate martini and a strawberry mojito. Susan seemed pretty happy with her drink as was I. Cost was pretty reasonable for these as well. We chose the Breezes Bruschetta as a shared entrée. The idea of adding mushrooms including Enoki mushrooms(our favourite) was a sure winner. Great dish here. I ordered a special being the catch of the day and Susan went with the Crispy Pork Belly. Both dishes came out together and lets just say we both failed to finish either. Great taste, crispy crackling and two content stomachs. What more can you ask for? The setting is a bit more relaxed for a restaurant per say but other than that this place is surprisingly very decent. With the 50% of food we had a total bill of just over $ 70. The service was also exceptional and very friendly. Can’t see why I wouldn’t come back.
