Suburban cafes follow a rule that applies to both tattoo studios and hair salons… the further away from foot traffic they are the more they rely on their services and quality to get bums on seats. Sublime says what it is loud and clear, absolutely. All day breakfast options, lemon infused water, inexpensive it ticks all my boxes. Whilst they lack outdoor seating it’s worth venturing here furry friend free for the food on offer. The vibe is laid back and the seating spread so it’s quieter than most. Roasted veg salad was brilliant and wasn’t lettuce heavy like most salads. Apparently the chickadee foccacia was the best Randall had ever had too!(I’ve been lightly applying pressure to not eat cows lately so thankyou Sublime for making the transition easy!!). I love that it’s all served on boards, small but lovely touch! Will be back, pretty damn brilliant!

First time been to this lovely chic modern café and must say I’m well impressed. I didn’t have a thorough look through the menu as I was with a group of friends, but as far as what I saw they seem to do quite a few home-made and home style drinks and meals. I saw they put together their own unique flavours of frappes and cold drinks, as well as the traditional sorts. The breakfast menu had a good variety. There were old favourites like bacon and eggs with choices of mushrooms, hash browns, home-style baked beans, and smoked salmon, served with crusty fresh bread. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Brekkie and it was absolutely amazing. I asked for extra mushrooms also. All the elements were freshly done and tasted delicious. I don’t know how they did it. There was avocado sauce on the side of the plate, which had an extra zingy taste about it which was just amazing. It was a well satisfying dish. My only criticism about my meal was my poached eggs were hard’ish. My co-diners had the same with their poached eggs also. So perhaps if you desire runny poached eggs I would mention while ordering. I would recommend Sublime café to anybody out there looking to try something new. It’s a fresh looking café with modern comfortable seating areas and fresh delicious meals. Well recommended.

We have been trying to find good breakfast cafes beat us for so long and I think we finally found one we like! The food was absolutely fantastic, best poached eggs! We had the say cheese scram, smoked salmon brekkie and the sublime Bircher with tea, coffee and a vanilla chai latte oh and plus 2 juices a apple, orange and watermelon juice and a apple, orange and pineapple juice and with everything we got there’s nothing bad to say about the food and drinks. The only thing that was spot on was the tables. We have a dog so we where sitting outside and the tables where a bit sticky but when we asked them to clean them they did so everything was good after that!

The food and drinks are really quite good… but…the service leaves so much to be desired. We have wanted a good breakfast/lunch place near us for ages but the service is so bad here we have stopped going. Last time my friend and I went there we ordered two meals. Mine came within 5 minutes. Nice and efficient. 5 minutes later we asked where my friend’s was. The reply came that the chef was marinating the meat. 20 minutes later we asked again and the waitress replied,“Yeah, I was wondering about that too”. When the food eventually arrived, there was no apology, it was unceremoniously dumped in front of my friend. When we looked up at her with a degree of incredulity. She shrugged and said«You ordered something that takes long to make» in an accusatory tone. We are fairly forgiving customers and had put up with things similar in the past. But enough is enough. Please shape up your service. The food really is quite good.

My heart has been stolen by someone new. Someone who serves a giant wedge of brie as a meal. I mean, I can’t expect you to compete with that! Things are going really well. In fact, they’re sublime(sorry, couldn’t help it). My move eastwards has been for the best, but I promise we’ll stay in touch. After my first lunchtime visit to Sublime, I went back four times in the next fortnight. I have drunk enough coffees there to be ready for a freebie on my Rewardle card. I’m afraid our love might burn out, but then I remember the baked brie and I know this relationship is one for the ages. As well as the baked brie, I’ve also sampled the big brekkie, the smashed banana on toast, the chai lattes, the coffee, the lemon slice, the teas, the juices, the burger(that thing could feed a small village), the mushies and fetta on toast and more… I have enjoyed each and every bite on each and every plate. Seriously, not a bad word about any of it. Prices are definitely reasonable(cheap even, for the portion sizes and quality, especially for this part of town) and gluten free-ers are accommodated for easily. At first I was a bit protective of our relationship and wanted to keep Sublime all to myself, but I know it’s nicer to share, so in the interests of being a good person and all that jazz, I’ve been spreading the word far and wide. Friends have been chuffed with their visits too and I feel so proud every time I hear more good stuff about my new boo. So go, my Unilocaly friends. I give you full permission to take advantage of my new love. Café monogamy really ain’t so fun.

Sublime is the new kid on my block. Housed in a space that use to be a hairdressers, Sublime undoubtedly does it more justice. Leaking out into a courtyard which cries for licensing on a Sunday afternoon, Sublime is light and airy and just the sort of place I was hoping for in my neck of the woods. It’s a 10 minute walk from my front door. Coffee is spot on. Not sure which beans they use – I don’t really care about that sort of thing. Food is tasty, though perhaps a little rushed – read: slapped together without much love. Last visit, I had the Sublime Eggs Bennie with smoked salmon. The eggs were slightly over. The bread slightly under. The hollandaise was kind of lumpy – I don’t know whether it was out-of-the-packet or a really ‘rustic’ homemade version. But it tasted nice overall. Served on a board, to satisfy all you hipsters – read: people that like crumbs falling everywhere. Juice seems to be a popular exploit at this place. Seemed everybody had their juice-in-a-jar-with-a-straw on at my last visit. Another trend to satisfy the hipsters. Fresh juice, though. Always good. I’m quite happy that this place has arrived in my ‘hood. I’m sure, as time wears on, things will mature. Like the service – it’s the kind of place where you want warm, friendly customer service. The staff to know your name after the first visit. Instead you get German efficiency with a brief smile. 3.5÷5.
