I have been here multiple times, yet stopped when I found out that other places do threading for less than half the price. I have only had my eyebrows threaded, tinted, and lip threaded here. The threading cost cost $ 28 dollars though places in the Valley, City and Kelvin Grove do a identical job for around $ 12. The tinting cost $ 18 and made virtually no difference, perhaps half a shade darker. Actually it did kinda make a difference, it made me look like I had a mono-​brow. The upper lip cost $ 16.
The only differences are that it is located in a large shopping centre — so great for the air-​con, no hills to walk (e.g. city), easy parking, a large variety of shops and they give a little longer massage. I suppose if it was a special occasion you might want to splurge, but if you have thick, quickly growing back brows like me then its too expensive to go often.

My sister-​in-​law had told me about the threading style of hair removal, which is quite popular over in Arab countries and I had been keen to try it out.
Winkbar is just a small little kiosk in Westfield Chermside, and they offer threading, eyelash/​eyebrow tinting, eyelash extensions and perming, as well as massage.
I hadn’t made an appointment, but they were able to squeeze me in 20 minutes for an Eyebrow Threading ($ 28), so I did a bit of browsing at Kitten D’Amour (which is right near by) and then came back.
They sit you down in a reclining chair and wipe rubbing alcohol and cleanser over the area. You’re asked to close your eye and pull your eyelid tight and they work on your eyebrows. It’s not very painful, a little more than tweezers, but not as bad as waxing. It only took a few minutes per eyebrow, and the woman did a great job shaping my eyebrows.
When she was done, she gave me a short massage around my eyes and then we were done. All up it took less than 10 minutes.
She said people usually come back between 2 – 4 weeks, and they have a rewards card — after 5 threading sessions, you get your 6^th visit free! I’ll definitely be back and maybe will get a massage next time too.
