Mmmmmm avocado rolls… Lovely service and very fresh food. Staff are very nice and quick at completing personal orders. This establishment is very busy though but a good indicator that the food is 10⁄10

One ofnthe bigger and better sushi trains around. They have a really good variety of dishes on the train, some quite exotic and all the usual rolls and treats. Chilli wagyu beef rolls a highlight. All good!

Sushi Train is definitely the go to place for Sushi at the Chermside shopping centre. The establishment is usually pretty busy, though you never have to wait too long for a seat. Everything is modern and clean, the staff are efficient despite being pretty busy and the food tastes very nice and is reasonably priced. I enjoy their Teriyaki Chicken & Avocado and Tuna & Avocado Roll’s the most, and they also do good hot dishes such as the Karaage(deep fried chicken) and Gyoza(pork dumplings). Sushi Train has a loyalty card that allows you to save money off your order, if you visit them often enough. There is plenty of parking available at Chermside, which is free for the first 3 hours. I definitely recommend giving them a visit if you are in the area and enjoy a good Sushi plate.

Was very meh. Everything was okay, i guess. Nothing to write home about. I’d recommend the sushi place on the other side of the food court before this one.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and while it was busy we were seated immediately. Servers were very friendly and attentive and even though I was seated next to a stranger, I was still comfortable. There is a lot of variety of sushi including salmon, squid, tuna, chicken and duck and of course you can order what else you’d like. I found it very filling, fresh and tasty and there is great value for money as I ate a few plates + a drink and it cost less than $ 15. Definitely one of the better sushi trains I’ve been to; would recommended.

One of the better Sushi Trains in Brisbane. Very busy as it is inside Chermside shopping centre but otherwise standard of what you expect. This venue has slightly less seating than others but the sushi is fresher.

This is the best sushi train out of them all. Service is always top, and the sushi is super delicious. I highly recommend the spicy chicken.

After having a busy week in Brisbane, I had a relaxing day with my Auntie. With so many Westfields dominating Australia, we were going to meet with her son at Westfield Chermside. I didn’t realize it was Friday. So, we were honoring Lent and had lunch/dinner at my first ever revolving sushi bar at Sushi Train in Chermside, Queensland, Australia. I am not familiar with this mall, but I can safely say, its near the food court. As I mentioned, this is my first ever revolving/conveyor belt sushi bar. This time I didn’t have to talk to anyone since most of the dishes I wanted were on the conveyor. As for the price details, each plate is color coated. I don’t remember what the prices were. And NO! I did not drink any sake. I was with family! I didn’t want to get out of control. if you don’t see anything on the conveyor for hours, ask one of the waiters/waitresses, they’ll inform the sushi chef. I know my auntie wanted a deep fried tempura crab sushi and got it. I wondered if I missed out on other dishes that never got to me. I know there were a lot of squid. No, Thanks! The one thing that threw me off in my sushi visits was the packaging of wasabi and ginger. I’ve never seen that before unless its sushi to go from a supermarket. The photo I posted is not all me. My auntie and her son helped me devour about $ 60AUD of sushi! When I got back to Los Angeles, I realized that I lived about 5 blocks from a revolving sushi restaurant. You’ll see my review on that location shortly. I didn’t realize my trip to Australia would open up some new things to try. Whether its attending a baseball game, climbing a bridge, or trying a revolving sushi bar, I didn’t know traveling thousands of miles would open my eyes to try something near me. You think I write too much? Well, you can call me a Unilocal-O-Holic!

This place changed owners about 6 – 8 months ago and since then I’ve become less than a regular. The prices have upped and the quality and sizes have gone down. It’s such a shame — it used to be a very regular of ours once or twice a week. The wagyu beef sushi in particular went from being delectable, to tough/cold/average.

I’m pretty picky about my sushi. I’ll try most places but in my opinion there is a lot of really average sushi around Brisbane. Chermside Sushi Train is one I keep coming back to. While I wouldn’t call it my favorite sushi place, it’s more than adequate to quench my sushi desires. It’s a little bland, and I never get the chicken, but otherwise it’s fine. If there’s a line out the door, don’t worry — it generally moves pretty fast. Don’t be afraid to order what you want, the range on the train is often very repetitive. They also have some pretty good udon noodle deals if that’s what you’re into. It gets quite busy and loud, but if you prefer there are seats behind and outside the Sushi Train.

One of my favourite places for sushi in Brisbane and it’s in a shopping center! For sushi off a train, the quality and consistency of the food here is amazing. They have all the usual dishes plus a lot more. I recommend trying the Aburi plates, and the spicy chicken. The staff here are always lovely and efficient. I was once here when a child had a huge accident and despite the horror of the situation they handled it and helped the mother really well.

You’ll find the Sushi Train down in the nicer(and newer) food court in Chermside, next to Wagamama. There’s indoor and outdoor seating, and still on a weekend lunchtime there’s a line up 20 metres long, so get there early. Lots of the usual standard sushi dishes, but a few of my favourite sushi plates are the Crunchy Roll — chicken sushi with crunchy, crispy bits and an amazing sauce to drizzle over it, and the Aburi Wagyu Beef. This one you have to order off the menu and they make it fresh for you.

I’m a bit of a snob about shopping centre food, particularly sushi. So much of it was made hours before(or even days by the taste of it) and I have to be falling down with hunger before I try it. Thankfully that happened to me at Chermside Westfield because that’s how I found this sushi train. There are 3 Japanese food options within metres of each other in this pocket near Woolworths, but Sushi Train is the pick. Food is fresh, ambience is fun and prices are reasonable. So next time you’re facing the horrors of holiday season shopping at Chermside treat yourself to a little respite at this unexpected gem.

Chermside’s Sushi Train has the best aburi salmon in Brisbane. If you haven’t had it, you are seriously missing out. Thankfully my darling friend Anna introduced me to its beauty a few months back and I simply cannot find another to match it. Lightly seared with what looks like a mini-blowtorch, this nigiri-style salmon is seasoned with a delicious white sauce and spring onions. It’s ridiculously addictive, I warn you. It melts in your mouth. Aburi salmon aside, this is just a really really good place to get sushi. Ingredients are fantastically fresh and miso soup and green tea are delicious. Good luck getting a table — Sushi Train is always packed unless you get lucky after the lunch rush on a midday afternoon. It’s not the best place to get takeaway as you will probably be waiting a while but dining in is a treat. Seriously — the aburi salmon. Do it.
