I have been here twice since the opening yesterday. My first experience was a 4 star exp and my second was a 2 star exp… therefore I have given this place 3 stars. My mom and I were extremely excited about this new restaurant. WuHan cuisine is delicious and is very hard to find… even in Chatswood. Our first experience was pleasant as the Sesame noodles(a very traditional dish), Fried bread dough(tastes a lot better then it sounds), bean curd sticky rice, and pork noodle soup were all very true to their nature. meaning the restaurant is very authentic. I recommend the sesame noodle and bread dough. However, the downfall of this restaurant is the service. Waiters would often forget ordered and while we were lucky to have been served on time. those around us would often have to ask the waiter what was happening in order to get their food. We came here for the second time to try out their rice and dish combos. We got eggplant rice and KuPao Chicken rice. This time it was a dreadful experience. We waited for an hour for food and felt horrible for the table in front of us who had arrived before we had and only received their food after we had finished. The service was dreadful and soo many orders were forgotten and mixed up. The dishes were also horrible. The rice was raw, the eggplant was half cooked and the KuPao Chicken was way to sour for some odd reason. I understand that this is a new restaurant… therefore I was more gentle with my review as I do believe this restaurant has a lot of potential. The cooks are all from WuHan and the food on the first day was really really good. However, I don’t think I’ll be going back soon… I want to give the restaurant a few months to kind of get the routine of things. This restaurant could be a new fan fav, a dramatic fail and close in 6 month or another westernized restaurant that mostly serves crispy chicken and honey sauce(sigh…it hurts to even type the last part).
