This place has been renamed Kaido, it’s an institution, having been in chatswood for many many years. The staff are still the same, experienced and friendly. Still the closest in terms of authenticity! Great service, and fantastic sashimi recommendations.

Absolutely my new favorite sushi train in Sydney! Such a great variety in the menu, all of my usual favorites and a few more that I surprisingly really enjoyed. Even my picky Dad found his rare favorites, like sea urchin and salmon roe. The seafood was so fresh and beautifully cooked. Plates we ordered from the menu were quite fast to come out too. The Japanese-born waitstaff, chefs and owner especially were very helpful, attentive, friendly and polite. Great tasting food, short wait times, wonderful atmosphere and cheerful staff are the only criteria I need for a perfect casual dining restaurant to fill. Definitely made me miss my time in Japan!

Don’t get me wrong I LOVE Asian food, but when I was younger I never had the taste for sushi. One evening, I decided to go to Sushi Train with friends for dinner and was keen to give sushi a shot. I simply cannot get enough of seafood and decided to try the prawn and avocado sushi roll. The California Rolls are exquisite and since then I have been back multiple times, once even on a date. The venue is always busy with patrons, whether they are there for a quick bite to eat or a more leisurely meal. The dishes aren’t overly priced and the ingredients are super fresh. You just pick whatever you want off the conveyor belt and dive in with soya sauce! The staff are more than happy to split the bill if you are dining with friends. There is a huge range of dishes and since my first visit, I have now sampled a larger variety of dishes. Anything with crab in it is also really tasty! However, some of the time I have to ask the staff what the dish is because the seafood or meat is difficult to identify. But that’s all part of the experience! Dessert is available and consists of cakes and jelly. Having tried the jelly when I was really young, I would not sample it again. I was under the impression at the the time that it would taste like Jell-O. How wrong was I! For those vegetarians out there, they offer a wide range of vegetable dishes so you don’t have to miss out!
