Definitely not the«best» or mind blowing sushi but a really solid option for a moderately cheap sushi lunch; The weekday lunch time price is only $ 3 per plate and there is a nice selection. I’m giving this 4 stars mainly because you pay for what you get(okay sushi for an okay price) and the servers are generally nice and attentive.

Arguably one of the best sushi trains I have ever been to! They have a large variety of fresh fish that go beyond the standard salmon, tuna and kingfish — today, there was also cod, mackerel, and yellowtail. There was also grilled scallops, a raw oyster sushi and king prawn fritters and today’s special was an egg omelette with eel inside. You can also order tempura, udon and other cooked dishes. Prices were reasonable and the quality was fantastic. Highly recommend if you’re in the Chatswood area!

Soooooooo good! I’ve eaten here at least once or twice a month for the last 2 and a half years. Staff are friendly and helpful, but don’t hover. Food is always great. If there’s something you want but you can’t see it the staff always make sure to make it for you quickly. If you’re lucky they will have some sweet 30s and 40s jazz playing too.

the food in this place has changed heaps since it first opened. the quality used to be fresher & the variety heaps more. now it’s just mediocre & overpriced…(quite sad really…)

This is the best sushi restaurant in Chatswood, Sydney. We manage to go there at least twice a month and more. The fish is so fresh, soft shell crab delicious and the takoyaki also very good, my favorite would have to be oh it’s all great, the prices are reasonable and the service is great. if we don’t have time to sit in we order a platter to take away and I would have to say the Salmon Paradise platter or Makoto Sakura platter the best. Any excuse will do for us to go to Makoto, although I might add we have been to the Makoto in the city and perhaps because it is not as big as the one in Chatswood does not seem to have the variety, so we were a little disappointed. Makoto is up there with any sushi restaurant in Sydney. and a firm favourite of ours.

Finally I get to go to Makoto by myself and order the Soft Shell Crab Hand Roll without freaking the boyf out that i’m eating a deep-fried huntsman spider. By Jeebus it’s delicious, I’m salivating just thinking about the mayo and the crab juices combining in succulent amazing deliciousness, it dripped all over the beautiful gold plate it was presented on. Unfortunately crab goop has the consistency of baby vomit and I held back in licking it, but I tell you what, I did consider it.

Been to this sushi bar a few times, food quality is good. The seafood and sashimis are very fresh. Have never been dissapointed. Great for a quick bite or if you’re craving for good sushis.
