When I decided to start horse riding on a weekly basis I took to Google to find out what different schools were around. I basically started cold calling the different schools until somebody answered the phone and that fortunately was Eastside Riding Academy. I explained my situation(on/off rider, somewhere between beginner and intermediate) and arranged a private lesson. My lesson was taken by Clare who runs Eastside. Clare is an excellent teacher — she is very on it, patient and makes the lesson fun. She is a very accomplished rider so she has lots of expertise but she never makes you feel intimidated if you make a mistake. If you continue riding at Eastside you’ll likely ride a different horse week to week — all the horses are a pleasure to ride but they do have horses for different levels of ability. I like it that Eastside rotates their horses regularly so that they are not in their stables year round. As I continued to ride with Eastside they gave me the opportunity to learn a bit about horse care which was such a bonus. A private lesson will set you back about $ 110 on a weekday or $ 90 for a group lesson.
