Santucci, won my heart with their coffee and crunch chips. But they have gone and changed their chips to sad looking wedges leaving me sad and disillusioned. A friend and I have sent quite literally dozens of people there for those chips, I don’t understand what happened? I even asked a staff member and they said they«started using different potatoes.» Why change perfection? I’m going to throw this right out there, Santucci doesn’t have a lot going for them, their sandwiches are mediocre at best, not to mention there is only about four options and breakfast menu ordinary, albeit all day which is appreciated. The chips is all they had nailed in the savoury department! Frankly, even the mayo with it tasted store bought, so think of that what you will. The desert cabinet is gorgeous, actually the cakes are delicious. Moreover, the coffee is great! Consistently great coffee is hard to find and Santucci has nailed that, so kudos to their Barista. The staff are always friendly and the service is fast, the place is always busy and it has the typical trendy, Melbourne café vibe. It’s a pleasant place to be for breakfast, brunch or lunch and affordable $ 10-$ 25 to be happy depending on what you order. All in all, standard café food plus great coffee is Santucci’s thing.

Pretty good coffee. Good service. Good attention to detail. Poached eggs were cooked perfectly. My breaky was good. Bacon was crispy and the home made potato rosti was great. I would have awarded 3.5 stars.

I liked this place. It got that real café bar sort of feel to it. I was looking for a place for coffee along Koornang rd, all of which was closed or had finished coffee for the day, this being about 4:45pm so highly understandable. I stumbled across Santucci, still making coffee, awesome.

Is the weather nice? Head out to the backyard and enjoy breakfast outside. WIth so many options in this area of town, its hard to get to all of them in lifetime. We were helped along by a gift voucher to Santucci and decided a Saturday brunch with this weekends weather was a perfect reason. Where I used to live had a café with an outside seating area where you can pick at your food and waste the day away with a newspaper or book. Well, I have found my new café. The breakfast menu is short and sweet, a few options what you can mix up with sides. All cooked with care and taste fantastic. Even tried the beetroot based juice. So if you are looking for a place to sit and let the day pass you by, there is street, inside and the backyard to do that. It’s a great little oasis in the Koonang road jungle.
