Daniel Son is close to the train station and has big open windows and a casual feel. Few things I like: Very reasonable price Good pot of mild chai latte No minimum numbers for bookings Courtyard for a nice summer day Will be going back as there is plenty of parking around and the food and drinks were worth the price I paid. The only thing I would pick on is that a few staff members rushed us a bit but being the weekend everyone needs their coffee so I understand.

Good breakfast and brunch options, coffee is en pointe. Usually pretty busy though, but there is an outdoor courtyard area. Near the train station, with a couple of other cafes across the road in direct competition but Daniel Son is the best of them in terms of coffee, food, and service.

If this Café was in another suburb or had other cafes around it they would not get away with charging $ 12 for a sandwich. They have pick there location well. Nice place, coffee was good. Pork pullaway sandwich was dry and not enough coleslaw filling. Pork was nice but cold in the middle. Much different to the publish reviews/photos I’d seen. Not worth the $$. Pity as I was really looking forward to trying it… not sure if I’ll try again. Sorry, I really really wanted it to be awesome! !!

It’s true that the coffee is of a good standard here and if one enjoys sweets, the glass display would appear to provide. But goodness. If there is proof of the victory of istyle over kitchen substance, it lives just next to Murrumbeena Station. If one were in Brunswick, the sort of schoolroom chic of DS would be standard. Perhaps even a little dated. In the south east, though, it looks novel and allows the emergence of some very average cooking. I’ve eaten here twice. Once for poached eggs with runny whites and another for a lunch dish so unremarkably executed, I decided I’d rather support the area’s more unfashionable businesses. If one wants coffee only and is comfortable with a feeling of exclusion by staff who seem go out of their way to embrace VIP regulars, it’s quite decent.

Decent café with excellent food served at excellent prices. Anyone who has ever spoken to me before probably knows how much I enjoy smashed avo. Daniel Son does smashed avo. Daniel Son does some great smashed avo. Daniel Son does some great smashed avo for only $ 9. This makes me happy. They’ve got Coffee Supreme in the hoppers here. Nothing special but it still makes a solid cup of coffee in the right hands. It’s been a bit hit and miss for me here but still a good choice as it’s on my way to uni and opens early in the morning. Nice little café that I recommend you visit.

You’ll find this awesome café in Murrumbeena right near the train station. Good coffee, cake selection and brunch. The smashed avocado with feta for $ 9 is a winner. Nice relaxed atmosphere inside and the staff are attentive and friendly. Check this place out!

Oh Daniel Son. Thank you for popping by and setting up shop in the slightly sleepy hollow of Murrumbeena and giving me coffee, brunches and lunches worthy of any inner city hipster establishment. Thank you for the awesome coffee and tasty treats — your blondie slices are amazing. Most important of all? Thank you for the smashed avocado with feta on delicious toast for $ 9. Please don’t go anywhere. For ever.

Cool café right near Murrumbeena train station with delicious coffee, a sweets cabinet to drool over, a very well priced menu and a specials board to keep things interesting. I had smashed avo for $ 9… NINEDOLLARS! I’ll be back…

Found this little gem near the train station and have been back nearly every week since. One of the best coffees you can get anywhere in Melbourne and the selection of homemade cake/slices is mouth watering. Have had a couple of breakies here now and all have been great. Highly recommend the meat hash, smashed Avo and the fruit or banana bread! Also love the slow poached eggs– always turn our perfect!

Brand new café in Murrumbeena. The owners are not new to the area having operated a number of cafes on this side of town over the years, including the popular«Brew» on Path Road. Their coffee blend is great, and they use Matisse artisan bread for the breakfasts. My youngest son chose the translucent slow poached free range eggs with bacon, my eldest fried eggs, and myself mushrooms on toast. With a serve of cheese on toast for my mother in law and jam on toast for my wife, coffee or hot chocolate all round and the bill was $ 48. Bright and spacious and done up with old railway lockers and paraphernalia, there are two tables in the courtyard and about seating for 30 indoors. A welcome addition to our area, and opening at 6am means early morning pre work coffee is on the cards, unlike the other cafes here who open a lot later. As the menu expands and the regulars come on board I can see this being another successful venture for Danny, Trish and Todd.
