I’m a massive fan of this place! Part café, part deli & all goodness. Definitely not the trendiest place going around but the food is seriously good & the staff are truly lovely. The food is on the heavy side with steak sandwiches, braised lamb jaffles & wild mushroom ragout making up the style. i.e. Not a bircher muesli to be seen! That being said, the pan fried gnocchi(with duck ragu) is some of the best I’ve ever had so just make sure you’re hungry when you come! The coffee can be a little hit & miss depending on who’s making it but for the most part it’s excellent. What really makes this place though is the staff — the owner/chef is so friendly and will go out his way to accommodate you. He recommends, makes allowances & tells you the stories behind the dishes on the menu. You can also pick yourself up some amazing cheeses as well which makes this place an amazing brunch spot!

Monte monte monte. What can I say? The food is amazing(I don’t say this lightly, try the steak sandwich). The coffee is as good as you’d expect for a Fitzroy North joint, plus they do great beers and soooooo much cheese. If you like cheese(AKA breathe air and have blood around about 37° Celsius), you want to visit this place. Head in on a sunny weekend morning and enjoy the banter inside, or next door in the car park AKA outdoor dining setting.
