Totally acceptable fish and chip shop. If I could give three and a half stars, I would. It’s clean, clear and welcoming. The prices are above the quality of the food but only just. What you’ll get here isn’t your typical greasy mess, it’s crisp and tasty. It loses a star for pricing slightly above its weight, but hey. If you’re in the market for fish and chips, I haven’t yet found anyone in the area better at doing fish and chips than this place.

This is my absolute favourite fish and chip shop in the area. We get take-away from the Fishionable Chippery every few weeks, and the food is always ready pretty quickly and is fresh, not greasy, and delicious. Doesn’t get better than that!

Well it’s not that fishionable, I mean fashionable, though it is quite a clean modern, place. It’s also a good place to get a regular fish and chips fix. It’s not an exceptional chippery but it does the job in terms of fast, fried food. The portions are a little on the average side, and differs from one day to the next. They are closed on Sundays which is rather annoying considering that’s probably the day people crave fish and chips the most.

Er, this place is one of those places that has tried to reinvent fish & chips as some kind of luxury food(read: higher prices and a fancy name) but they serve pretty standard fish and chips. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with standard fish and chips, but if you’re gonna put yourself out on a limb and try to repackage a standard meal, you should make that shit count and do it for real… I say. This place is neither memorable nor appallingly bad. It occupies that middle of the road greasy meal land but it loses me through it’s attitude that it’s somehow better than the rest. There aren’t many chipperies(a great term, I’ll give them that) in the area, so this place has that going for it I guess. But y’know, you get what you’d expect from a standard chipper.
