Description

Specialties

As you can see — we are a small Café with a large Alfresco area, specialising in roasted coffee with freshly made lunches, light snacks & delights.

Our coffee is freshly roasted with a guarantee that the beans will always be fresh. Our blend is from ‘Padre Coffee’ who roasts their coffee daily in East Brunswick and delivered directly to us to use in our café.

Our food is all made daily and has the highest quality ingredients. We pride ourselves that we do not use any pre-packaged food or pre-prepared meals — all our meals are made daily being baked in the morning or prepared during the day, depending upon the menu.

We have a selection of regular items, starting from small snacks, and delicious freshly made soup (made daily in small batches), to more substantial lunches and a large range of pastries, cakes and other delights.

On top of our normal range of snack, meals & delights — we also have many daily specials that we prepare, depending upon the season and weather.

History

Established in 2012.

The Café is part of the original Theatre in Mailing Road, Canterbury.

The Café is located with the large square, known as Theatre Place and the building was built in the late 1800’s.

The Café is styled in European Chic ‘Meets Brunswick Street” — with the owners ensuring the Café is styled accordingly. On the walls are original signs, posters and items from as early as 1930 — with many rare original items.

The Café has a very large Alfresco area as well as a cosy interior inside and is ideal as a meeting place.

The Mailing Road precinct has real appeal as many of the shops are housed in historical buildings — The area has a historical overlay and the Alleycat Café is decorated accordingly.

All are welcome!

Business Owner

Peter & Judy run this Café as local’s — as they live and play in Canterbury.

Both have past experience in setting up and running Café, Tea Rooms and related businesses. So it’s no real surprise they have opened up this quaint Café in Mailing road (8 Theatre Place, Canterbury).

Service and great ambient surrounds, with delicious food and great coffee is our key focus and we hope you come along and try us.
