A Swanky little place hidden down a side st in up and coming Brompton, the aptly named Brompton hotel is pricey but you get what you pay for. The bistro is designed and decorated classily with exposed brick, dark woods and bold lighting; the kitchen can be seen through a large glass panel. The service is friendly and helpful and return often to ensure patrons are enjoying their meals(on a quiet night). The Bromptons most impressive asset is their stonegrill dining experience where diners meals are served sizzling on a piping hot stone ready for you to cook to your liking every order is served with a side of fries and salad as well as complimentary sauce. I’ve been here a few times previously and have enjoyed my meal every time, their dessert menu is usually impressive, I was let down on this occasion nothing stood out which is sad as there’s usually always something. It’s a pricier meal for sure but it’s definitely a tasty one

Had a work dinner a few weeks ago and it’s a pretty good venue. It’s located down a network of small streets but does have a parking lot. The menu revolves around the Stonegrill concept where you order your protein raw and you get a hot slab of stone and you cook your own protein. I ordered the 400g rump which was a hulking piece of quality beef. It was a good tender cut and I did manage to finish it which is likely a weekly serving of meat! Service was prompt and friendly and ordering drinks was quick and easy.

Had dinner here last Wednesday before the Amazing Beyonce concert and a few other people had the same idea but it was not overly packed which was nice… The renovations look great and even the female bathroom was lovely and spacious and lots of mirrors… The food was good and nice size servings. As a starter we had the mustard seed and parmesan bread and that was delish… I had the crab pasta for the main which was a little different to the usual ones I’ve had. It was in a diablo sauce which I have never tried before and had a strong chilli flavour which I don’t mind a bit of but that was a little over powering. My friend had the steak which was served on mash but she said she felt like it needed a green veggie in there but I think that us something you can order as a side dish. She had asked for it to be cooked medium but I think it came out more med-well done. Overall a nice restaurant food wise but they did take a long time to clear our plates away after we had finished and a few little things I asked for like a wedge if lemon, never made it to our table then we had asked to see the dessert menu and they had forgotten so had to ask again. Attention to detail please… It’s another restaurant in the entertainment book so great value.

The Brompton(AKA«The B») is one of those pubs that’s been through a big renovation. They’ve added a great bistro and a couple of intimate dining areas as well as the ubiquitous Pokies Room. They’re part of the ‘Stonegrill’ group so you can grab a slab of raw meat and cook it yourself on a hot slate. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy there’s the usual Pub Grub of Schnitzels and Burgers or for something different, what The B calls the Boards, Tapas style tasty treats, you’ll need to grab a couple each at least for a meal(and priced accordingly)

The Brompton, affectionately known as «the B» is another made over suburban pub doing the gastro thing. The décor retains a touch of the rustic but for the most part it features sleek modern lines and big screen tellies. There is a nifty little outdoor space and they have a regular $ 5 pint on the taps. This is definately one of the better do-ups and it caters well for the white collars that now populate the area, having shed it’s blue collar past. The grub has been brought up to scratch too and although a little pricey they’re providing a great product that extends itself convincingly into ‘restaurant food’ territory. I’m pretty sure they have pokies and all that jazz but I try and ignore those things. It is excruciatingly hard to find so look it up before you leave home as my faulty memory has had me driving all over Brompton and the surrounding subirbs looking for it on several occasions. It’s really close to Port Rd and the city.
