Southwark Hotel

Thank you for a great finish to our engagement weekend. We both ordered the steak, which was cooked to our liking. Served with chips n side salad. Atmosphere has a cuntry town pub feel. Friendly staff

This place has undergone a lot of changes over the years. I even remembered when it once went through the tittie bar stage to try and bring in some more clientelle, but those days have now long since passed (and even then it was only on a Friday night). Mind you, this is a pretty old pub, and the photos inside show you how it, and Adelaide, has changed over the years. I ended up spending quite a while staring at the map of Adelaide from the turn of the 20^th century hanging on the wall. I love looking at those old maps to see how things have changed. It is an okay pub, and a nice place for a quick drink after work, though probably not a place to spend a huge amount of time. The have some tables out the back where the smokers and sit with the beers as well.
