This eatery has, hands down, the best buffalo wings in Brisbane. At just over $ 12 for 6 wings(and I regularly get 7,) a whole mess of coleslaw and a generous helping of chips, they’re a delicious bargain. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they also serve kebabs, pizza and a large range of flavoured fries as well!

If there’s anything better than a kebab or hot chips to oil away the pain on a Friday night, it’s a slice of pizza from Slice. This stuff comes served piping hot and can be eaten either standing(there’s plenty of loitering space in the front and on the side of the shop) or sitting(there are a few tables on the sidewalk). You’re not allowed to bring food into Archive, so on nights that I’m drinking there and starting to feel peckish, I make the short walk to Slice and order a piece of Margherita. Regardless of whether you’re sober or out of sorts, there’s no denying the deliciousness of Slice pizza; it’s fresh, smothered in cheese, and comes served to you quickly. What more could you ask for in a late night snack.

On days — or to be more precise, nights — when I’m walking down Boundary Street and I can’t for the life of me shake that hunger, those are the nights when I love serendipitously running into Slice. I’ll be casually getting money out and look up to see its beautifully curly writing winking at me, telling me that a slice of pepperoni or margherita pizza will make everything better, guaranteed. I’m a little sick of New York Slice and every now and then my anti-establishment side rears its head. Whether I’m in that type of mood or I’m just moseying through West End and I don’t particularly feel like hot chips(this is rare), Slice is my go-to choice. On Fridays and Saturdays it’s open until 1:30am(thank goodness) so there’s respite for the weary traveller — or drinker, as the case may be. Kebabs aint got nothing on Slice.

I consider slice pizza to be a gourmet version of the beloved«New York Slice» found in the Valley. Situated right next to Lychee lounge, it is a perfect late-night feed after drinking a few fancy cocktails. The pizzas at Slice are on display but only in the small size which are big enough to fill up one hungry person or two people after a quick snack. Alternatively, you can order an large pizza which will get made for you. The prices for the small pizzas will set you back $ 12.90 and and the larger pizzas will start at $ 19.90. Not the cheapest feed, but they are worth it. I am a fan of the pumpkin, ricotta and spinach(or something along the lines of that) pizza. The pizza bases are nice and thin, not oozing out oil– how it should be. Slice Pizza may be a little more excy than the dingy $ 5 pizza slices from the Valley, but you wouldn’t want to end your fancy cocktail night at Lychee Lounge with a greasy pizza would you? This is where Slice Pizza comes into the picture.

Wandering down boundary on a weekend you are usually meet with long winding lines at the various kebab shopfronts. …Thankfully I have moved on from the 3am chicken roll and onto a sneaky pumpkin spinach and ricotta pizza at slice. This place doesn’t boast the most amazing pizza I’ve had but it is great for parties and as a general food pitstop. I’ve yet to sample their entire menu but I can tell you the Spanish Chorizo was a sure fire winner amongst our camp. (a yummy blend of spinach, mushrooms, capsicum, onion, chorizo sausage and a light dusting of chilli.) If you’re wandering around westend and are on the verge of Hangry(Hungry and Angry about it) I recommend giving these guys a shot.
