We had breakfast here this morning, coffee was average, sausages and hash brown uncooked, but somehow, the poached eggs were perfect.

Starting from the beach, we walked up Jetty Road in search of a lunch place for light lunch. We walked past one which looked interesting but we thought we might as well keep on going to the end, only on one side of the road where most eating venues are. We settled into this ‘deli’ as we thought it had character n just what we were looking for. The place had a mixture of Art Deco furniture n mix match chairs n tables, there was a shelf of vintage vacuum flasks adorned a wall n the other wall had mirrors to add to its image of space. It worked, as next to that is a huge communal table — a trend in most eating places whereby solo diners won’t feel out of place sitting at these tables. The display cabinet served its purpose of showing what’s on offer and we settled to share a stack high pumpkin frittata n a salad. When we ordered n told them that we are sharing the meal, he quickly recommended that for an extra $ 2, we could have our chosen salad with the frittata, wow, what a suggestion as it saved us $ 8 between us, bargain! Lunch was served on 2 plates with half of the frittata n a salad, unfortunately it wasn’t the one we ordered but this salad was nice enough n we ate it anyway. The frittata was warned up to the correct temperature n we had a satisfying meal. Upon leaving, we told them that we didn’t get our chosen salad, she immediately served us up a small plate for us to try, such obliging n friendly staff! What more can a customer ask for? If I come back down this way again, I’ll def come again to try other dishes, the menu may be small but they all sounded healthy n interesting.
