I came to this restaurant after reading the reviews. I was excited to try a new place! Unfortunately I was disappointed. Maybe it was a bad day for the waiter, but we did not have good service at all. I had ordered the seafood stir fry and specifically asked for no capsicums(bell peppers) of any color. I ended up with a rather large amount of both red and green capsicums! Also, the waiter brought out my husbands steak, and said he’d be back with the steak knife. He never did. My husband had to go to the bar and ask for one, as the waiter never came back. The food itself was tasty. VERY saucy. On the stir fry and steak. So if you love sauce, this is the place to be.

We have had brunch here three times and not once were we disappointed by the food or service. The food came out together and it was well presented and very enjoyable. I’ve booked again for Wednesday night for dinner so I will add further to this review once we have experienced dinner here.

Had breakfast here on a Saturday morning. The hollandaise on the Eggs Benedict was the worst I’ve had and tasted like it was made with vinegar instead of lemon juice. On the coffee front, my soy latte tasted like bread dough and was surprisingly unpleasant. The staff were very nice, but I wouldn’t go back.

New management makes all the difference. It had been quite a while since I’d visited Ashscotts, I’d given them a few chances but the food was never up to scracth. I had heard that they’d changed management, but with so many alternatives around I never ventured to go back. As it turned out, a last minute Mother’s Day booking, and Ashschott’s was my only choice. They’d had a cancellation and could accomodate us. I was still weary, what was I dragging my mum to. Well, WOW, is all I have to say. The food was fantastic and the service was brilliant. We shared a magnificent Tapas plate for entrée with beautiful spicy chorizo, haloumi, olives, fresh crusty bread and more. Then onto my main, Chilli Prawns for me, and that had me hooked. 12 prawns with a beautiful asian inspired chilli, not the sweet chilli you get at some places, but Chilli with a nice bite to it. As full as we were, we had to do it, and ended out feast with some tantalising desserts. For me of course, it was the usual Lemon Tart, and I was not at all dissapointed.
