Went here for my Friday night fish and chip dinner last evening, as I have done throughout Lent. I was on my way to an event, so I thought«Let’s give this place a go». Got in at 5, when they open, and order was filled out very quickly. The fish(barramundi) and chips were alright, nothing to write home about, but the cheese sausage had an off taste to it(didn’t eat most of it), and the mushy peas($ 3.50 for a sickly mess!!!) were downright AWFUL. I opened my cup, which felt suspiciously light, to find a watery, anemic mess of pale whole peas. I dipped a couple of chips in the mess, no taste whatsoever. Thinking about that mess of peas(I didn’t dare try any of the actual peas) makes me feel queasy. Short version: If you come here, DON’T ORDERTHEPEAS! I give this place a 2 for their quick service(dont know what it’s like at its peak), and for the fish and chips themselves being decent. Those«mushy peas» and that sausage, though, are more than enough for me to never return.

I visited this place on Monday — around 8 pm. I was shocked to see that it does indeed close at 8:30 — quite early no? We had the standard fish and cheaps. Extremely satisfying and straightforward. They lack the variety of dishes that the more popular swish and chips offer — however, the batter is a lot less heavy and greasy. This fish was amazing and so were the chips — although they did skimp on the vinegar(where was it?). I wasn’t even that hungry but I still ate the lot — could not resist: p

This is one of the better fish’n’chips eateries in all of the Inglewood/Bedford area, and there are plenty to choose from along Beaufort Street and its parallel, Walter Road. I’ve had a Fisherman’s Basket here and every piece is tasty and fresh and not too oily, unlike many other fish’n’chip shops that use too much fuel for their frying. They have great specials here on particular nights of the week. On Mondays, a Snapper & Chips sets you back just $ 7.95, and Tuesdays all Burgers & Chips are the same price. Living not far from here, I often place an order by phone and pick up my food, which is always piping hot, even if I’ve arrived to collect it a little later than I said I’d be. My only gripe about this place is that it’s never opened long enough. Sure, it welcomes customers 7 days a week, but three hours a night(5.30pm to 8.30pm) is not normal business operation, surely?
