Well this is cute. A bakery by day and wood-fired pizza-by night. Saba Artisan has been in the works for quite a while. I remember driving past regularly and seeing it progress from an empty shell to the now open subway-tiled interior it is today. They’re pouring Elixir coffee and throughout the day a range of general bakery goods — pastries, quiches, sandwichs and of course, loaves to take home. Stopping in for a quick take-away lunch, I opted for the caramalised onion and goats cheese quiche. It’s small but perfect to pair with a salad if you were taking it home. Taking a squiz at the pizza menu — they’re all simple but look like they’d be packed with flavour. I make a mental note to come back to try them out. Everyone behind the counter is super friendly and I can see this being a great community hub for the Bardon locals.
