Ok the staff are good. Lily and Pera are friendly. The coffee is very good. If you like a bacon and egg roll is probably the best, after that the food gets pretty limited. The things that could be improved are air conditioning. There is non and the kitchen can make things hot in the summer. The second Is WiFi. There is none and would help business people and students use the café. So even though I would like to give the girls a higher rating for effort. It’s a 3 star café with great coffee and friendly service

I like I like this place. Has really good coffee and and the food is simple but delicious. Try the smoked salmon and ricotta or the smoked salmon eggs benedict. A Good little unpretentious café.

We stopped by after a short cycling tour round the bay nearby and glad we did. It’s got lovely coffee, which means it joins some good options in Balmain. Service is perfunctory, and they claim to have the best bacon and egg rolls, which my dining partner said were up there(but not THE best). Seating is limited so make sure you don’t dedicate yourself to a breakfast without checking first for seating — though there are lots of other options nearby if you have to wait.

Bustling café in the heart of balmain with friendly waitstaff and a warm atmosphere, particularly on a cold rainy day. Went here for the all day breaky. Really delicious breakfast and good coffee. I had the big breakfast with advocadoe and tomatoes. The menu is a bit limited, and they only cook the eggs as fried or scrambled(I am a poached girl). Still generous servings and good value for what I got.

Sorry, I am literally losing my religion here at this establishment. Points are to be awarded(and well deserved) for extremely fantastic coffee; yet the service and the cramped ambience is such a turn off. This is Balmain; cafes do get crowded so some space is allowed and much needed. The coffee is superb; yet I won’t be coming back to this religion in a hurry as the service is just okay; nothing spectacular. Maybe if the staff go on some customer service training, and they open up the space a little more; then most definitely I will give this establishment more of a chance. There is an abundance of choice for coffee in Balmain and Rozelle(let alone in the city nearby) that great customer service and great coffee must go hand in hand. Life is short. Not coming back to this establishment in a hurry, and sadly as well. Maybe if they also got rid of the initial counter service(hey, the latter is also a bit of a turnoff at Rosebud too) and provided full table service; although I don’t want to be a business consultant again: it would be a recommendation that should be taken seriously in enhancing the customer experience, and making it more positive in my eyes.

True Religion has funk and a little bit of edge. Its tiny shop has a beautifully painted back feature wall, and tiny canvases made of coffee hessian bags dot the side walls. The menu is short but tasty, and the rest of the décor is pretty basic as TR makes the most of the age-old milk crate stool. They sell Conscious Chocolate, which is another good point, and whilst the staff were far from cheery(sometimes it’s hard to smile on a Saturday morning, I get that) they were genuine and still pretty nice. Everything here sounds like it’s in order — so why am I not giving this place a thumbs up? Because for an espresso bar, my coffee was subpar. Although I could taste that, underneath, the coffee shot in itself was probably quite good(Single Origin beans), I couldn’t quite taste it over the domineering milk ratio. My piccolo was more like a latte, the small take away cup filled 7/8ths of the way to the top. This is a bigolo piccolo True Religion. You almost had me there. Unfortunately, I shall not be subscribing to your faith.
