It’s probably a 2 ½ star. Anything hot on the train is usually cold due to a lack of patrons. Good value after 8pm where most plates are $ 3 but it’s been on the loop for a few hours

I think the place has gone down hill a bit. The food is still quite good but the train is half empty at dinner time and the service is a bit forgetful and not particularly friendly. They still do good scallops but i’ve eaten them all and waiting for some more to appear.

Love the wooden theme; it just blends in so nicely with a modern, chic and contemporary sushi train in Balmain; and yes even children love this establishment so much. You can’t keep my two nieces(ages five and nine respectively) away. It must be the cute, modern theme. Well at least there is pretty good service to boot. Maybe a bit on the pricey end, however for quality sushi that is usually okay once in a while. You can go much better in the city. This sushi establishment does make the inner west proud. Quality, fresh ingredients with great service to boot. The ingredients are in reference to the meat and the avocado varieties; not so much the rice as for me; the latter is a little bit too grainy for my liking. Otherwise and truly this is a great restaurant. Great for lunch on any given weekday or weekend. Family friendly, and maybe not such a great establishment to go it alone. Bring a friend or even a loved one with you. You just feel so different(in a nice way) as well as comfortable and welcome. Needs to be visited at least once to be appreciated; especially if Japanese food is your thing.

Sushi Traiiiinnn!!! If you live around Balmain I think you’ll be glad to have one nearby, as we all love them so much. But I suppose with sushi train, if you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. At least in my experience this is true, but I’m no sushi connoisseur so that might put your nose in the air if you’re a foodie. So what can I say about another duplicate? The staff are polite and friendly, the atmosphere is comfortable, the food is good, the place is clean and aesthetic, prices range from $ 2.80 to $ 6.80, and in general, the place seems really professional and accommodating. If I had to choose a sushi train, I’d chose one in a cool location(Balmain’s pretty good for proximity to the city, night life and vibe) that’s not too populated and makes me feel comfortable. Sugoi sushi bar ticks these boxes! And for those of who will think it matters: There’s a light fitting shaped like a ship. No joke.
