Fairly decent café by Avalon standards, but otherwise lacklustre. To be fair, the coffee is at least a 7.5÷10, but the food is no more than a 5/10, especially considering the price.

Right for the start I have to say this is the best coffee in Avalon. So if you are looking for a good cup then come on down. I quick walk from the beach it is a good place to grab that beautiful cup of coffee. Not sure if it is as good as Coffee Brothers in Mona Vale, but Smalltown still holds its own. The food here is good but nothing special. I’ve honesty only come here for breakfast. So I can comment on the lunch menu. For breakfast, all the waiters swear by their breakfast sandwich, lovingly called the Big Boy. It’s a good sandwich, but honestly by the way the waiters were talking I was expecting a life changing event. Also, it’s actually not that big. Just saying. They also make home made pastries and desserts if you are feeling for something sweet. Also the staff is extremely friendly. I think one waitress was so friendly that I was going to ask her to join us for breakfast. Further if you are into the hippie layout of modern cafes, then you won’t be disappointed by this place.

Great little café located on the main shopping strip in Avalon. We arrived around 2 ish for an afternoon pick me up. They have indoor and out door seating and because it was a lovely day we sat outside. This place gives you the feeling of being on holiday, that nice relaxed vibe. For some reason it reminds me of Port Douglas. We ordered a cappuccino, a chai latte and the cold brew. All were pretty good. We decided to also order the pour over which came out like a long black. Staff were very friendly, the menu looks amazzingg! So will have to come back to try the Jasmine coconut bircher and the hotcakes!

Exactly what you expect from a high quality café in av. Coffee is awesome. I couldn’t tell what bean it was but it seems they have a few to choose from as well as a rotating guest bean. I didn’t try the food but from the other tables it looked really good– will make a point of coming back to try it out. For those that think Avalon already has too many cafes hasn’t been here yet.

The old Cooks Larder has closed and these guys have taken over. New design and they only do food and coffee, no retail deli stuff. The coffee is fantastic and the brekky is brilliant. Bacon and egg roll with house made relish was generous and delicious with heaps of perfectly cooked bacon and two eggs still runny in the middle. Keeno had fruit and labna with sourdough and Jant had something that I forgot to note but she said it was good. Highly recommended.
