These guys used to be quite good. You could always rely on them for a quick and easy and delicious meal. I wouldn’t call myself a regular, but I used to go there quite regularly when I lived in the area. I recently dropped by for a visit after a 2+ year absence. They’ve definitely dropped the ball. Either that or they were having a really off day. The sashimi which I’ve enjoyed in the past was quite suspect. There were a few pieces that did not smell or taste right. I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and likely return one day — but not any time soon.

Stopped by here for dinner with 3 friends on a weeknight, and the place was full — although the location is quite convenient, and the plaza provides a reasonable ambience for something so conveniently close to the train station. The food was reasonable, especially for the price — I have probably had better Japanese, but given I paid a little over $ 20 for the meal I’m not complaining. We shared 15 pieces of sashimi for starters(very good) and I went with the Pork Katsu for my main(not bad). If I went again I would probably go with one of the sushi trays as one of my friends did. Service was good, perhaps slightly slower then I would normally like. Overall a good experience, a solid 4 stars from me.

A friend of mine used to live in Artarmon so before she relocated to Japan she wanted to visit(and take me for the first time) to one of her favourite Japanese restaurants. Ironic that she left for Japan but still wanted to eat Japanese as one of her final meals in Sydney. FOOD There were four of us there which was perfect to order a variety of dishes to share. We ordered the following: Tamagoyaki Beef tataki Takoyaki Spicy Calamari Tempura Special sashimi Tropical roll Soft shell crab and lettuce roll The food was excellent! Notable mentions would be the special sashimi which consisted of salmon, kingfish, tuna, squid, octopus, scampi, scallop and jellyfish. It was so fresh and the perfect size for the four of us to share. I also really enjoyed the tropical roll which was an assortment of sashimi on top of a california roll. I will admit that despite how westernised it is I really like california rolls so to add fresh sashimi on top just made it even better. SERVICE There is limited indoor seating so we had to sit outside in the cold wet weather. The waiters however were nice enough to seat us next to an outdoor heater. It started pouring at the end of our meal but there the outdoor plastic cover kept us dry. I was a bit concerned that some of the rain was going to get on the light and heater wires though. VERDICT A very small cosy place hidden beside Artarmon station. If your ever thinking of going to Chatswood for Japanese why not keep going a little bit further to try this place instead.
