Food was good, staff were rude, ambience was ok. In my opinion a fairly mediocre restaurant

The food wasn’t bad but not that great either. I think they are a bit overpriced for the quality of food they serve. It seems this is another case of paying a premium for the restaurant’s location, as they are in the main pedestrian area in Chatswood. The menu is a mix of Korean and Japanese, and on both occasions I dined here, I had a Japanese dish: one was a sushi plate(I can’t remember exactly what kind of sushi, I guess that’s proof of how forgettable it was) and the other a teriyaki chicken bento box. Like I’ve said, not bad but not something you’d write home about. They have a BBQ grill if you want to cook your own meat, but the sets are pretty pricey too. I’d rather go to a proper Korean BBQ place if I was up for a BBQ. They have some lunch deals which are reasonably priced so it might be worth coming back to give those a try and to give this restaurant another chance.

I will admit, I did not eat bulgogi at The Bulgogi. I did however have the bibimbap, which was slightly overpriced. Don’t get me wrong – I was craving something spicy with rice, so it definitely hit the spot. It also came with interesting(though limited) banchan sides. But bibimbap really shouldn’t exceed a certain price range, IMHO. $ 18AUD for one of the simplest of Korean dishes is a little too much to ask. Maybe that’s just me, but there you go. Other helpful things to know: *In a nice area – Chatswood’s «North Shore» Asian central neighborhood(after we ate here I was totally tempted to go karaōke at Tomato down the street) *They have options for DIYBBQ as well as the kind where it’s actually cooked for you ahead of time in the kitchen like a normal restaurant. *They sell Hite beer!
