I really want to love Taste Baguette… really really. But sadly I just don’t feel they deliver in the ‘taste’ part of their baguettes. I’ve returned three times now to try three different filled baguette varieties. On a whole, the produce seems to be fresh, the baguettes fluffy, crunchy and chewy in all the right ways, but then somehow I’m just not satisfied with the taste. If this is even possible I feel the bread overpowers the ingredients, and the baguettes are a little dry without a sliver of butter, mayo or somethi’somethin’ to bring it all together. Not that I think all sandwiches need a condiment, I honestly believe that tomato, prosciutto, mozzarella and lettuce should be able to carry a baguette on their own, but sadly I haven’t found that to be the case here. That being said, the coffee is excellent, the dessert pastries look amazing and the staff… the staff! They are possibly some of the friendliest in the East End… and it is because of the fantastic team that I will keep persevering to find the taste in my baguette.

Taste do some of the best baguettes you’ll have the fortune of putting in your mouth anywhere in Adelaide. The service is great, the staff are always friendly across their multiple locations and the food is exceptional. I’m a big fan of their salami + cheese breakfast baguette with a spicy tomato paste — the ingredients are always fresh and delicious. Their chocolate brownies are really something else, and I have no words to describe how deliciously melt in the mouth they are, so just go and try them! Their mochas are incredible as well, a little on the rich side but with real melted chocolate mixed into the great coffee they already make. A great place with great ambience, the rest of the varied menu has been delicious to the last bite and I always find myself looking for an excuse to visit for lunch whenever possible.

OMG! I’m so glad I’ve found this place as I was starting to be desperate finding a good baguette in Adelaide. But when I’ve discovered the French baguettes at Taste on Rundle, I’m regaining hope in Adelaide’s bakeries. You should also not miss their baguette sandwiches that are banging! And take time to chill out in their back-door garden with he smell of delicious pastries.

The best coffee you will get in town. Try their macchiato — second to none. While you’re sipping grab a danish to chow as well. The only thing equal to the food and coffee here is the service. What a great little shop.

A pleasant surprise tucked behind the busy Rundle Street sidewalk, the friendly service and delicious coffee make this place a great find! We didn’t try the baguettes of it’s namesake but the looks of those served around us — as well as the«yum’s» and«ooh’s» lead me to believe they’re pretty darn good too. The smell of fresh bread, cool music and shady leafy greens out the back make for a nice tucked away coffee break!

This place is going to make me both fat, happy and poor all at once. Crispy Pastry that Melts in your mouth, Silky Sweet Cold custard, Fresh tart Fruit, and in miniature danish is how they stole my heart. The plum moist and dense brownie is how they kept it, and the hearty, chunky Tender beef wrapped in golden flaky pastry is how they locked it away from all others. That was all before i’d eaten of their name sake products of baguettes, fresh bread or drank of their coffee — Spoilers, its all just as amazing. Indeed this place is so good, that I’ve shunned my French neighbours fresh made croissants for the trek into town for one of their almond ones. If the baked goods don’t keep you coming back, The friendly smiley chatty staff will.

Great little spot on an early Saturday morning to start a day of shopping. The food is this place was excellent and it was a beautiful breakfast. However coming into the summer months, these guys really need to ensure that there is some separation between the bins and the outdoor dining area. The insects were either attracted to the smell or to the water that I am sure pools in the bottom of the pot plants — it all looks great, but just need to ensure that this works from a practical standpoint Ending on a more positive note — I will proudly say that Taste Baguette served what could arguably be the absolute best Mocha I have had in Adelaide.

Great little place! I was walking around looking for a quick breakfast the morning our wine tour started and had spotted this baguette when we were walking around shopping the past day. Taste is one of those boulangeries with really good coffee — beautifully dark roasted with a smooth finish. Coupled with an almond croissant for breakfast, it was absolutely perfect — the croissant was flaky, yet very soft in the inner layers. The layers were paper-thin and not too buttery nor floury, giving the pastry the perfect consistency in the mouth. To top it off, the almond paste used was not overly sweet, and had a very crunchy and firm consistency which made it feel like they had processed the almonds on their premises. What topped off its excellence was being able to sit on Rundle Street at an open table, the sun at your back, with a light breeze coming in, enjoying an Adelaide fall morning(which is still rather balmy given that I’m coming from Canada), admiring how calm the city is at 8AM on a Sunday before whatever rush begins to descend on the city. There are very few bakeries that have this kind of privilege, and even fewer that go out of their way to make good pastry and coffee at that. Taste is one of the establishments I really wish we could import back to Canada. Then again, I’ll take anything in Australia that makes coffee on-premises — we really need less Starbucks and Timmy’s on every corner.

I’ve walked past this place several times in the past and I got myself to get there finally. The décor is great, bohemian rustic(if there’s such a style) with plenty of rusted metals and rough timbers all over. It matches very well with the Rustic Loaves and Baguettes. There is a street side cabinet full of premade baguettes, cakes and hot pastries that temp the eyes and noses as you walk past, then add a dash of coffee aromas MMMMM. I chose a made to order BBQ Pork Baguette. Well. just the bread OHMY so tasty, earthy, some of the best I’ve tasted. the fillings were fresh and tasty(pork, brie, lettuce mustard) well worth the price. Along with that I had a very pleasant cup of Flat White. Especially with the warmer weather coming, I can see me eating more stuff from Taste…

Fantastic chocolate croissant! The coffee was good too. But the best kept secret is the peaceful back patio– amazing! Do yourself a favour and drink your latte there. After you take a deep breath you will be sipping away the day’s craziness. Enjoy.

Please know that I have only been to this place in the prime location of Rundle Street once — on their first ‘practice’ day. I have given them five stars for their outstanding, friendly and keen service — even though that day they were just trying to get their name out by giving their goods away for free. Thats Right — I had a coffee and an apricot pastry(my god it was amazing) and a delicious brownie, FORFREE. What a bunch of champs. I’m assuming it isn’t free anymore — but who knows? I haven’t been in Rundle street for a couple of weeks. From what I tasted, the coffee was great and the food was delicious. The décor is new and funky. The staff were really friendly, smiley and eager to please. Has great potential but as I said, I haven’t been here since they have started charging for food, so I’m not sure about price etc. With so many restaurants, this is a great new option for lunch/coffee in the East End!
