went a few weeks ago totally different vibe to what Ihave read below, but we were told to go to the Rocket bar as great music. Not when we were there tho. there was lots of different nooks and crannys to sit, but the music was definately not for me. It was the really fast Alvin and the chipmunk sound. Kids had fun tho ! Sooo loud you couldnt talk but the kids had fun ! As you can guess didnt stay long. So if your a certain age fab for you, but another age as I am not so much.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be recommended the Rocket Bar. Standing in/on their rooftop bar makes you feel really good. The amazing rooftop bar staff are flaring bottles and making INTELLIGENT conversation at the same time. It’s a mixed crowd leaning towards hipsters. If that doesn’t float your boat just hang in the bar or go downstairs and burn the dance floor… The prices are cheap too but that’s beside the point. Another place not to miss when you are in the city of churches.

Okay for a club, but over priced! $ 15 to get in, and then it’s only one floor and a rooftop. Drinks aren’t that cheep either, $ 7 for a single vodka. The rooftop will be good in summer, but other than that, miss it out!

Pst… secret squirrel? When it comes to nightlife and clubs I’m a nanna. A nanna with a crocheted blanket, a cup of tea and yelling off my front porch«put some pants on young lady!» However, when if I drink a few«Baroccas» and manage to get out of the house I like to make the most of it and Rocket Bar is a place where I can do just that. If you are fortunate enough to fight the Rocket Bar crowds on a Saturday night, this place is a great live music venue and initmate enough to filter out all the riff-raff so you don’t have to constantly be telling girls to cover up or boys to pull up their pants. The drinks here are really well priced and they have a good selection of spirits and cocktails to choose from. Arguably the wine list is ordinary and there was only one cider available that had run out the night I went there. And I must admit(here is the nanna coming out in me again), it was a tad too loud to have a conversation in(even before the bands came on stage) which was disappointing. It is a great venue with lots of seating, plenty of nooks and crannies and apparently a rooftop bar I need to try(if I could ever work out how to get up to the next level!) So if you are looking for a pleasant venue for a few Baroccas and good entertainment with some great local and undiscovered interstate bands give Rocket Bar a try.

I’ve always enjoyed Rocket Bar. They’ve got something cool going on there, and whilst I’m aware that a lot of people go because«it’s cool to go there», I still manage to ignore the posers and have a good time. Rocket Bar’s resident DJs have great taste in music, offering up classic and timeless hip-hop tracks. But they don’t just hit play and lean back; these guys(and gals) know how to cut. There aren’t too many places in Adelaide in which you can lean back on a sofa with a drink and chill out to the likes of Mos Def and Pete Rock. Aside from hip-hop, Rocket Bar is also host to a lot of local rock bands. I’ve seen some really cool shows here, and it’s a cosy little venue that can be filled out easily. Bands won’t have to worry about looking out into an empty room. And though the drinks are a little pricey, I don’t mind paying a little extra for good atmosphere. Rock on!

Rocket Bar is the third level of the Electric Circus complex. It is open every Thursday, Saturday and most Fridays. Generally, it features live music. Some of the best Australian and International bands have played up here, including The Swiss. It is a great venue. The dance floor is massive and so is the bar. Perfect. There is very limited seating area, but when you are up here very few people sit down anyway. The drinks are very standard, generally shots and base spirits. They are reasonably priced and often there are drink specials on Thursdays. Their 2 for one 1 vodkas make the night very interesting. Rocket has recently had an exciting new addition. It’s rooftop bar. Yes there is now a bar on the roof. The bar is very relaxing and chilled, where you can go and sit down and chat. There is artificial glass and a massive palm tree. There is a lot of outdoor seating and the bar is cute! Since the opening of the rooftop bar, there have been extremely long lines to get into both Rocket and the rooftop bar. This was rarely the case before, so hopefully it should go back to normal soon!

Welcome to the land of people trying too hard. The poser to normal person ratio at Rocket is about three to one which makes the odds of having a good time much lower than other places in Adelaide. The majority of the Rocket regulars are trying so hard to be ironic it’s difficult for them to even remain upright. I don’t know how they have time to order drinks they’re so busy being droll hipsters. But look, they’re not all bad and as the others said you can dance and have a good time if you’re there with mates. The toilets are almost always blocked and foul so avoid them where possible. The Rocket stairs are second only to Supermild in danger terms, and it’s likely one of your friends will stack it in which case you can point and laugh at them. If you’re the one who falls though, you will be humiliated and expect your friends to turn a blind eye. I once had a drink poured down my neck when I was chilling on the lounge here. In the guys defence he did buy me a fresh vodka after.

I’ve only been here once, but I enjoyed the music(old school — think Spice Girls, and other stuff like that). The place it self isn’t very large so chances of losing your friends is slim. There’s the main bar and a smaller bar out the back. What I liked about this place was the large dance floor and the many places to sit if your feet just can’t dance any more(girls will understand this). What I didn’t like about Rocket were the bouncers. I know bouncers aren’t generally friendly but these ones(especially one) was very rude and when I asked him a question he turned his head and ignored me. Also, there are two flights of stairs to climb up before you get to the bar, so this isn’t good for girls in heels or if you have had a few. Overall once your in Rocket you will have a good time(providing you come on a Sat or Thurs night when it’s busy), but don’t expect the staff on the door to be friendly.

I like to dance ironically. It makes it easier for me. If I’m too serious when I dance, I feel ridiculous. So I dance like Dickens writes. I make fun of everything. I parody my friends, satirise the activity, and poke fun at myself as well. And — don’t ask me the science or psychology behind it — somehow it’s easier to dance ironically to tunes from the 90s. I’m the grumpy type. I watch people dancing and enjoying themselves and I get confused and annoyed. I see people screaming song lyrics in each others’ faces and I get Holden Caulfield syndrome. But I can always forgive the 90s. Maybe it’s because I was born around then. Like I said, I don’t fancy the challenge of rationalising this. But the Rocket Bar loves their 90s music. They place stuff from all over the place, of course, but they tend to stick toward the stuff of two decades ago. And I dig it. One of the bouncers tried to play tough guy with me, because I was wearing a beanie, I guess. Sometime you’ve just gotta let them look good in front of all their bounder friends. The drinks aren’t cheap or expensive. Yada, yada. I like this place for the music, but I don’t really care for the rest of it.
