Absolutely delicious! I had the dolsot bibimbap(#2) = yummm and the kimchi pancake(#20) which was divine on its own but when you add the condiments(kimchi and a wonderful dipping sauce that looked like soy, chilli powder, spring onion, sesame oil and also had a sweet taste to it) it became phenominal!!! Super quick service too during the busy friday lunch period. It was so tasty that I converted my conservative eating friend to Korean food now, so win win! :)

I LOVEKOREANCUISINE. Every place I have gone around the world I have made it my mission to find a Dolsot Bi Bim Bap and taste the influence each culture has on the humble hot pot. From Hong Kong to Munich to Portugal I sought them out and applied my tastes buds to the delicious journey that is this simply nourishing cuisine. At the central markets there are a few different places where you might find a hot pot to taste. In the Eastern food court off of Moonta St in China town we find Mum’s Kimbab. First thing I’d like to say is FANTASTICSERVICE. Such friendly and huge smiles welcome you to the counter and even at 12.30 they only offer a 10 minute wait TOPS so BIGTHUMBSUP. Second thing i’d like to say… COMPLIMENTARYSESAMESEEDS… CHESSSSPLZ. Thirdly… If you were hoping to boost your daily kimchi intake… this is not the place to go. They offered only a small side of soup with the tiniest ramekin of kimchi. But Maybe they knew I didn’t need much more to eat because I hardly got through the generous serve. Overall I liked it. I scraped the bottom of the bowl for the delicious flavour and found myself walking away satisfied and happy. I don’t know if i’d go back because I feel like I’d be cheating of my regular and favourite in the western food court but thats a review for another time… WELLDONEMUM… You tasted good.

One of my favourite shops in food court. I usually go with my friends for lunch. The staff are quite friendly and the food is good. I love eating cold noodle soup(number 18) in summer day and kimchi pot stew in winter day :)

Great place to have lunch after shopping at central market. Food is authentic. It is hard to find Korean cuisine in receipe books. Having a take away near central market is awesome

Great place for lunch within the food court. You just need to plan your time as the place can be very busy with very little seatings at some times. Great food very nourish and servings are more than suitable for a lunch time meal. Another secret of china town unveiled

Mum’s Kimbab is a… MILF!!! And I’m a food digger… She’s my favourite stall in the Market Plaza Food Court. I’ll admit I haven’t gotten too adventurous with her(yet) and always pretty much order the bibimbap($ 8). Get it in a sizzling bowl for an extra dollar(dolsot bibimbap). Smallish menu, like 12 items. Haven’t tried the Kim Chi Hot Pot yet, but I’m intrigued by Scott N.‘s review. Great place to try!

Located in the Market Plaza Food court(just past O Bun), Mum’s Kimbab is a pretty decent Korean food stall. Eating Korean sometimes confuses my inner Ninja-Samurai, but it enjoys it none the less! I have only sampled a few of the dishes on the menu and I must say that it isn’t the best super fast Korean in the city, but it still does it’s job. Word to the wise, if you jump into the Kim Chi Hot Pot, you have REALLY got to like Kim Chi, because that sucker is Strooooong! I have decided that I love it as a garnish or as a flavour additive… a bowl on its own is a little much!
