Had probably the worst salad I have ever eaten here. I understand that salads are not their specialty, but some effort would have been appreciated. I got a tuna salad and it was literally cos lettuce, 4 sandwich-style slices of tomato and half a can of tuna. C’mon, my teenage brother could create a better one.

Stopped in for breakfast for 5 people on a Sunday morning. Plenty of outdoor seating and it was a pleasant morning outside. Seating inside too but outside is more alluring. Latte was spot on and my preferred brand Vittoria. My partner had a green tea and she was impressed. Food was top quality and generous serving sizes. Prices were very reasonable too. Staff were great too.

City workers, locals and tourists pop in here for a quick cuppa and maybe a bite to eat. There also bicycle parks outside, making it an ideal stop-off on a bike ride. DRINKS As the name suggests, the café specialises in lattes, and they make them nice and creamy. They also make a good, creamy smoothie. My favourite is the berry smoothie. The café also sells a range of soft drinks and water. BREAKFAST You can order breakfast all day. I have had one of the café’s omelets, which you can pick the three fillings for. I ordered my favourite fillings of mushroom, spinach and cheese, and these were nice inside the folded over omelet, which was a bit crispy. It was served on a slice of white bread with butter on the side. LUNCH Along with all the sandwiches are more substantial meals, such as butternut chicken curry and beef or vegetable lasagna. DIETARYREQUIREMENTS Pescatarians and vegetarians are well catered for and vegans can be catered for. The café doesn’t advertise what is gluten free but it looks like some of them are, so I’d just check with one of the friendly staff if I was with my friend on a gluten free diet. SERVICE The staff are really lovely and the service is quite prompt. LAYOUT The alfresco area out the front on the Hutt Street side is sheltered by an extended roof. There is a large parasol covering part of the alfresco dining area not covered by the sun and another one over a display containing leaflets on what’s on in the area. The sheltered area extends to the Gilles Street side, with more alfresco dining there. Inside is a deli-like setup with sandwiches and wraps and more seating. There is a kitchen out the back.

I’ve got three words for you: ALLDAYBREAKFAST. For fellow fans of the full breakfast, this proclamation is enough to get you over to Latte on Hutt in a rush… finding a full hot breakfast after the hours of about 10am is a challenge for most cafes in Adelaide, so being able to get my bacon and egg fix at 2pm is a HUGE advantage! You can sit outside and chill in the breeze as you enjoy your bacons: bonus points. A full hot breaky will set you back around $ 16 including a coffee, which is pretty reasonable. The serving size for the ‘Big Breakfast’ was perfect and service also fast and attentive. But perhaps even more importantly, the coffee is solid. Get yourself over to Hutt St, breakfast fans!
