Seeking a tasty place to sneak away to to nosh on a pizza and sip a glass of wine? Barrio Uno is your place. The only problem is that it might not be so sneaky — the day we tried to go, nearly the entire restaurant was booked out. Apparently that’s what happens when you serve an amazing array of fresh, wood-fired pizzas + wines by the glass for a sweet deal at lunchtime in Adelaide’s CBD. They’ve also jumped on Adelaide’s Aperol trend,(why hasn’t Campari made an appearance yet? Consider me baffled.) so when we visited, nearly every shiny happy table had at least one of the glowing orange drinks at hand. The staff was very kind, but obviously still learning how to handle such heavy lunchtime traffic. Food and service took a bit longer that anticipated. That said, when the pizza arrived it was well worth the wait. And if there’s an Aperol fizz in your hand, the wait will feel like no time at all.
